Responses to Questions Posed
It is the expectation of the 5th grade teachers that all students write fluently and with great
conventions. In order to be successful, students must :
• rephrase the question
• write all responses in complete sentences
• identify the subject BEFORE using a pronoun
• give ample details for each thought or idea
• address all parts of the question(s)
• write neatly
• reread each answer to check for correct spelling, proper grammar and continuity within
the piece
Every 5th grade classroom teacher has committed to grading all students’ writing in this
manner. Please make sure you check with the above list to ensure the best grade possible.
