I'm excited that you are in my class! I hope you had a wonderful summer. Make
sure you bring all of your supplies this week, and take home your Math or
Social Studies Contract and have them signed and returned no later then
Friday.
*SOCIAL STUDIES NOTES:
The following information will help you to be successful in Social Studies
this year, and it will enable you to access the book's contents without
bringing the heavy text book home. If you have access to the internet,
please give this a try:
World History Survey, On Line Book, 6th Grade
Go to Classzone.com to get connected
Type in your User Name, which is your first and last name (NO SPACES).
Type in your password, which is your school student ID Number. (Try adding S
to the ID # if this does not work).
Your code for getting started is: 2562731-20 Now you can do homework
online, read the chapters, and study for tests. There are practice tests for
each chapter and section. Students, parents, and teachers can all have fun
and learn more about the world. If you have problems, you may call me at 602-
664-7645.
Current Events are another thing students share in Social Studies class.
Each student is assigned one day per quarter to share a current event with
the class. Students will need to write down their current event dates in
their planners. These "appointments" will also be posted on our class
calendar.
Community Service work is required from each sixth grader per quarter. You
will need to turn in a reflection paper with your Community Service Log
before the end of each quarter.
