I am delighted to be teaching Math and Social Studies to sixth graders at
Madison Meadows! I first came to Meadows sixteen years ago and started as a
fifth grade teacher teaching all subjects. I found I really loved teaching
U.S. History, Language Arts, Science and Math too. When an opening came
along for a sixth grade AEP Math teacher, I was delighted to move up, and
use more of my math background. I have loved working with the sixth
graders to continue to teach them new strategies to learn math, as we all
have different learning styles. This year, I am excited to be teaching
Social Studies, as we are studying World History.
I am married to Norman, have two wonderful daughters, three beautiful
grandbabies, and three dogs who believe they are all human!
I attended Grand Canyon University, but got my Bachelors of Business in
Management and Finance at UTEP. Along with helping my husband in his
businesses, I have had various jobs in the business/financial world that I
enjoyed.
However,I had always wanted to teach since I was young; therefore, I went
back and got my Masters at Chapman University, and have been at Meadows
ever since. Being a continual learner, I have taken numerous classes at Un.
of Phx., ASU and NAU in the last many years.
I love my job, and I have very high expectations for every student in the
classroom! I believe that all students can learn math and develop good
number sense. I like to provide the students with successful experiences
in math, and help them find their mathematical strengths, by providing
them with positive feedback. I like to connect the math we do to real life
situations, and this year to bring World History along with it.
