WATER, WATER, WATER! Don't forget to drink water even if it is cold outside. Keeping hydrated prevents lots of headaches, keeps your skin healthier, and helps keep the weight off. Water bottles are permitted on campus and can be purchased in front of the Nurse's office after school for 50 cents. Proceeds benefit Mrs. Lane's Special Needs Class. MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL: Remember, all medications must be brought to the Nurse's office, properly labeled, and a parent consent signed. Cough and cold remedies are not on the list of meds provided by the school. These need to come from home. Throat lozengers are available. DRESS CODE: Please read the student handbook regarding appropriate dress code. If students are not in compliance, clothing from the Nurse's office will be utilized and the student's clothing will be held till our clothing is returned. Immunizations: Remember to bring a record of the immunizations you receive at the Dr. office to the nurse to update our records. Many new shots are now being administered to students when they are going in for routine annual exams. Share the information with - bring us a copy. Current immunizations are the Law of the State of Arizona. Bring proof of any shots to the nurse. Protect everyone. BE WISE..IMMUNIZE! The VARICELLA IMMUNIZATION OR SIGNED PROOF OF THE DISEASE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS. Students that are non-compliant will get a letter sent home. Currnet immunizations are mandatory unless an exempt form is on file. Be sure to verify with your Doctor that your child's immunizations are current at your next doctor visit. Dtap booster shots are needed if your last DPT or Td booster was 5 years ago. Check with your Dr. MENINGOCOCCAL IMMUNIZATION: Next school year this will be manatory for all children over 11 yrs. old. This is very important to get before teens start socializing in close contact with each other. Meningitis is spread thru close contact, towels, eating utensils and sharing drinks. This disease can be very serious and potentially fatal. COVER UP!! The Arizona sun is beautiful, but can be very dangerous. Remember the sunscreen. Try to add sunscreen to the morning ritual of; breakfast, brush your teeth and PUT ON THE SUNSCREEN. HATS WORN CORRECTLY ARE ALLOWED AT RECESS AND P.E. Remember to label your hats.
