Homework

See announcements page for details about important due dates for long term
assignments.

Consistent weekly assignments:

L.A.-
Every week in L.A. the student works on a spelling unit as homework. Monday is
the Spelling and Thinking page, Tuesday is Spelling and Vocabulary page, and
Wednesday is the Spelling and Reading page. On Thursday nights, they can
either write each word three times each, or have someone give them a practice
test and then write the ones they missed 5 times each. I will collect all four
assignments as a packet every Friday. While the homework isn't collected until
Friday, the students should be doing it on the day it is assigned.

The spelling test covering two units is every other Friday. Every other
Monday the students will receive the test back. As homework, they must write
the words they missed 5 times each. They should write the words on the test page.

The students are given new vocabulary packets every two weeks. See the packet
and their planners for assignment due dates. The vocabulary test will be every
other Friday. The test is multiple choice and requires them to choose the
correct definition or synonym. The vocabulary test will be on the alternate
week from the spelling test.

S.S.-

Typically there is little S.S. homework. Occasionally if a student does not
finish his class work and the majority of the others have, he may have to
finish that assignmnent as homework.

Long term assignments students should be focusing on include:

-studying for upcoming tests (see planners, study guides, and the
announcements page of this site for details).

-working on their current events (one per quarter).

-completing their 5 hours of community service per quarter and filling out the
reflection log
