Hello families,
I'm thrilled be entering the second quarter with you and your family. I know
that the rest of the year will be an amazing journey. I look forward teaching
and learning with you.
Teaching is not just a profession for me, but a passion. My students are
respected and valued, and their parents treasured as key components to their
success. I strive to create a safe, comfortable classroom climate which makes
it possible to engage in a variety of learning experiences.
I student taught at Madison Rose Lane in 4th grade, then graduated from ASU
in 2001, with a Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education. Meadows became
my home in 2002 where I began teaching 5th grade. I have taught language arts
and social studies for the past 7 years and am excited to have the opportunity
to implement the hands-on FOSS science program this year.
Being a life-long learner is extremely important to me so I have taken
advantage of the many professional development opportunities offered by the
Madison District. Last summer, I attended technology courses which earned
our class a SmartBoard interactive screen which projects what is on a
computer screen. I'm thrilled to have gained insights into how to effectively
incorporate technology into the classroom when appropriate to help motivate
and educate students. It has been an exciting adventure learning this new
technology along with my students.
Thank you for brightening my life!
Sincerely,
Kathy McQuillan
