About The Teacher
Hello families, I'm thrilled be entering the second quarter with you and your family. I know that the rest of the year will be an amazing journey. I look forward teaching and learning with you. Teaching is not just a profession for me, but a passion. My students are respected and valued, and their parents treasured as key components to their success. I strive to create a safe, comfortable classroom climate which makes it possible to engage in a variety of learning experiences. I student taught at Madison Rose Lane in 4th grade, then graduated from ASU in 2001, with a Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education. Meadows became my home in 2002 where I began teaching 5th grade. I have taught language arts and social studies for the past 7 years and am excited to have the opportunity to implement the hands-on FOSS science program this year. Being a life-long learner is extremely important to me so I have taken advantage of the many professional development opportunities offered by the Madison District. Last summer, I attended technology courses which earned our class a SmartBoard interactive screen which projects what is on a computer screen. I'm thrilled to have gained insights into how to effectively incorporate technology into the classroom when appropriate to help motivate and educate students.
