Hi! My name is Vickie Slife and I have been teaching over 20 years in
Arizona. I have taught 1st through 5th grade, but my absolute favorite age
group is 4th grade...students in 4th grade are independent learners and have
a lot of opinions on how this world should be run!!!! I have two sons,
Derek (28) and Troy (24). My husband Curtis and I have been married 32
years!!! My husband owns a local architectural firm in Phoenix. We love
living in Maricopa after living in Tempe 30 years...we love the small town
feel as we both grew up in small towns in the midwest. We do have one
addiction however...PUGS!!! We have four pug dogs, not to mention fish,
birds, and of course our classroom pets. We love to garden, travel, hike
and bike, read, and our latest challenge are the Wii and the DS Video Gaming
Systems. I am still very passionate about teaching after all these years and
hope to continue hanging out with 4th graders for several more years!!!
Students will live with intention, walk to the edge, listen hard, practice
wellness, play with abandon, laugh, choose with no regret, continue to
learn, appreciate their friends, do what they love and live as if this was
all there was.
We will make each day a series of learning events, from the planned and
required to the totally spontaneous and unexpected daily experiences!
