6th Grade Science

Week 5 (9/08- 9/11)

This week our goals is to begin looking at the structure of cells. Students will begin learning about the different parts of a cell. Students will need to be able to label the cell with the proper parts and explain what each organelle's function is. I have attached the power point we will be using to learn about cells.

This week students also read about the kigdoms that living organisms are broken into. The attached reading is available for review. And extra credit assignament was to read about Cell Biology and complete the questions after the reading.

Week 4 (8/31- 9/4) LATE START THIS WEDNESDAY 9/2

This week we will continue to explore the topics of life science. We will review the 5 traits common to most organisms, discuss what living things need and talk about the importance of water to organisms. Students will complete the handout on water. Students will also complete reading of p. 14-18 and review questions on p. 18, questions 1-5.

On Friday students will complete their first article review. Below is the link to both the article and the directions. Students are given time during class to read and write the review. If the review is not completed in class, students need to finish it home and bring it on the next school day.
