Here is a look at what we'll be exploring during the fourth quarter: 
<DIV>Reading Comprehending Literary Text: Describe literary elements of text including characters, setting, and plot. Describe characters within a literary selection. Identify the difference between fiction and nonfiction. </DIV>
Comprehending Informational Text: Ask relevant questions in order to comprehend text. Identify the main idea in expository text. Locate facts in response to questions about expository text. Locate specific information from graphic features of expository text. Locate specific information by using organizational features of expository text. Identify a variety of resources that may be used to gather information or answer specific questions. Writing Write complete sentences.  Punctuate sentences using periods, question marks, and exclaimation marks. Write expository text. Locate and use unformational sources to write a simple report. Grammar Skills/Phonics Punctuation Compound words regular/irregular plurals Contractions Alphabetize words to the second letter Abbreviations Math Tell time to the minute using analog and digital clocks.  Use estimation to determine if the sum of two 2-digit numbers are more/less than 20, 50, and 100. Demonstrate the concept of multiplication for 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's. List all possibilities in counting situations. Identify the value of an unknown number in an equation involving an addition or subtraction fact. Science Describe the life cycles of various organisms. Social Studies Discuss examples of responsible citizenship in the school setting. Describe the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

 We would like to Honor your Patriot on our HERO WALL. There is a special place in the hallway in the front office named PATRIOTIC PLACE dedicated to our Veterans and the Men & Women who currently serve in the Military. You can Honor your family member or friend by filling out an Honor Sheet. This will allow you to add a 4x6 picture of your Patriot and fill in some cool information so others can learn about your Patriot.  **Volunteers**  To volunteer in the classroom or chaperon field trips you must complete a volunteer packet and obtain a fingerprint clearance card.  For more information please contact Danielle Persons, our Volunteer Coordinator at <A href="mailto:dpersons@pecschools.org">dpersons@pecschools.org</A>
