        HOLIDAY ART PROJECT
To celebrate the holiday season, and the tradition of gift giving, each
student will be given
the opportunity to make a holiday gift jar in class. Students will learn
practical skills like
how to read a recipe and how to measure and mix dry ingredients to make
cookies. You will
receive the completed jar back as a gift from your child or together you may
decide to give it
to someone else. To create this colorful and festive holiday gift, we will
need a few supplies.
If you are able to bring in one or more of the following items, the students
and I would truly
appreciate it!

Needed Items:
1 quart Mason Jar: (EACH CHILD NEEDS THEIR OWN JAR!)
1 yard of holiday print fabric: (to decorate the jar)
½ or ¼ inch ribbon in red, green, silver, gold or festive print (to decorate
the jar)
1 lb of sugar: (1/2 cup per student)
1 canister of Old Fashioned Oats: (1/2 cup per student)
1 lb. brown sugar: (1/4 cup per student)
1 lb flour: (1 ¼ cups per student)
1 box Rice Crispy cereal: (1/2 cup per student)
16 oz. Bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips: (1/2 cup per student)
Large bag of plain M & M’s: (1/2 cup per student)

Please begin sending in your items as soon as you are able, we would like to
have all the
supplies by December 12th, to ensure our projects are ready for Winter Break.
Thank you for all
your continued help and support!
