I am an Arizona native, born and raised in the Tucson area. After going to
Salpointe Catholic High School for two years, I graduated from
Marana High School in Marana, AZ in 2002. After high school I attended Pima
Community College for two and a half years. I transferred to the University
of Arizona and completed my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education in
December of 2006.
During the spring 2007 semester, I substituted in grades K-12 throughout
Marana. I finished the semester as a long term substitute at Twin Peaks
Elementary, where I also did my student teaching.
This is my second year in Sahuarita and I love it here. There are many
commonalities between Sahuarita and Marana where I grew up which makes me
feel very at home here. The teachers, staff and parents of SIS have been a
great welcoming into the community and I hope this year will be as great as
last year.
•Softball! I have played softball since I was in 3rd grade and I continue to
play today. I am currently on 4 slow pitch softball teams throughout the
week and weekends and it is definitely my favorite pastime.
•Scrapbooking. When I get the chance, I like to scrapbook with my mom and
sister.
•Collecting Pennies. Among other things, I collect the smashed pennies from
anywhere and everywhere I go. It is a fun and easy item to collect when
traveling and my friends and relatives even send them to me when they are on
vacation.
•Teaching! I love being at school everyday and working with the students. We
have already become a family and although school can be stressful sometimes,
we always like to have some fun too.
•Watching sports. If you hadn't noticed, I am a huge baseball fan. :) I love
my Dodgers and Diamondbacks. I enjoy going to see these teams, especially
when they play each other! I like being a spectator of any sport and I
especially love watching my students play. If your child is involved in
baseball, football, dance, or any other sport, I would love for you to send
me a schedule and the kids always love seeing their teacher at their events.
•Playing with my baby. (My dog, of course!) I have a 6 month old Shih Tzu
named Miley and in case I don't come home tired enough, she makes sure to
wear me out when I get home.
