My name is Kim Atwell. I am excited to be your child's teacher this school
year. I look forward to the experiences that we will share and the learning
that will occur over the next nine months. I have been an educator for ten
years. I have taught fourth and fifth grade students and I am an online
instructor for Pima Community college.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Barry
University in Miami Lakes, Florida. I also received a Master's degree in
Educational Leadership from the same educational institution.
My husband and I were both born and raised in Miami, Florida. We have been
happily married forever! We have three adult children. We moved to Sahuarita
Arizona about six years ago. We have learned to enjoy the sites that
Arizona has to offer.
It has been a pleasure to teach at SIS for five years.

I believe it is my job, as a teacher, to help ignite the desire to learn in
each of my students. Helping each child develop the skills needed to be self
motivated, responsible, and a good problem solver is critical. These are
some essential ingredients to becoming a successful young adult. Working
together we can help your child make the most progress possible this year. I
