Wednesday, Dec. 16--Today the students watched Mulan.  No homework.

Tuesday, Dec. 15--Today the students had a substitute.  They continued
learning about the geography of Southeast Asia and began working on a map.  No
homework.

Monday, Dec. 14--Today we began learning about the geography of ancient India.
 No homework.

Friday, Dec. 11--Today we compared and contrasted the Chinese Cinderella story
with our version of the story.  No homework.

Thursday, Dec. 10--Today we typed up our paragraphs on the Analects of 
Confucius. Then the students explored a little about Buddhism and Hinduism.  
No homework.

Wednesday, Dec. 9--Today we identified artifacts from sent to us from China
through the Time Machine.  No homework.

Tuesday, Dec. 8--Today we took our test on China and filled out our passports.
There is no homework.

Monday, Dec. 7--Today we reviewed for our test tomorrow.  Homework is to study
the study guide for the test tomorrow!!

Friday, Dec. 4--Today students wrote a paragraph explaining the meaning of a
saying by Confucius.  They also began drawing a dragon.  Homework is to
finish the dragon.  It should be colored.  This is an effort grade, so
students need to put their best work into it.

Thursday, Dec. 3--Today we learn about Confucius.  Homework is WB p. 27.

Wednesday, Dec. 2--Today we played a bartering game and learned about the Silk
Road.  No homework.

Tuesday, Dec. 1 -- Today we continued taking notes on the Chinese dynasties. 
Homework is workbook page 26.  Due tomorrow.

Monday, Nov. 30--Today we learned about the Chinese dynasties.  No homework.

Wednesday, Nov. 23--Today we finished the newspaper and answered questions
about what we read and completed a Chinese crossword puzzle.  No homework.

Monday, Nov. 21--Today we looked learned about the population density in
China.  Homework is workbook p. 24.

Friday, Nov. 20--Today we were in the computer lab exploring ancient China.

Thursday, Nov. 19--Today we began learning about the different geographical
areas of China.  Homework is to finish coloring the map of China. (Except for
1st period because I forgot to hand them back to the students.)

Wednesday, Nov. 18--Today we watched Ancient China for kids with Arizona
Smith.  No homework.

Tuesday, Nov. 17--Today we finished off our Egypt unit and began learning
about the geography of ancient China.  No homework.

Monday, Nov. 16--Today we finished our sarcophaguses. No homework.

Friday, Nov. 13--Today we painted our sarcophaguses.  No homework.

Thursday, Nov. 12--We had our time machine travels to Ancient Egypt.  No 
homework.

Wednesday, Nov. 11 -- Veteran's Day, no school.

Tuesday, Nov. 10 -- Today we paper mached our sarcophaguses. No homework.

Monday, Nov. 9 -- Today we began making our model sarcophaguses.  Students 
made
the base.  No homework.  Please bring a paint shirt for tomorrow.

Friday, Nov. 6--Today the sixth grade went on the field trip to the Math and
Science Expo.  No homework.

Thursday, Nov. 5 --Today we talked about our sarcophagus project.  In order
for students to participate in the project, they must have ALL their work
turned in.  Homework--any missing assignments--You know who you are!!

Wednesday, Nov. 4--Today we took our chapter test on Egypt.  No homework.

Tuesday, Nov. 3--Today we continued our review for the test.  Homework is to
study for the test TOMORROW!!

Monday, Nov. 2--Today we began reviewing for our test on Wednesday.  Students
filled in a review sheet.  Homework is to study for the test on Wednesday.

Friday, Oct. 30--Today we learned about Nubia and its relationship with Egypt.
 We completed a worksheet in class.  No homework.

Thursday, Oct. 29--Today we worked in the computer lab.  No homework.

Wednesday, October 28--Today we finished learning about pyramids and the
pharaohs of Egypt.  We did a worksheet in class.  No homework.

Tuesday,  October 27--Today we continued learning about pyramids.  No
homework.  Our test will be next Wednesday.

Monday, October 26--Today we had shortened periods due to an awards assembly.
 In class we began learning about pyramids.  Homework is workbook p. 20 due
tomorrow.

Thursday and Friday, October 22 and 23--These two days were a crazy schedule.
 I only saw your student on one of the two days.  We graded papers and began
talking about the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt.  No homework. 

Wednesday, October 21--Today we finished up learning about mummification. 
Homework is to draw and label the four main steps in the mummification 
process.

Tuesday, October 20--Today we learned about hieroglyphics and mummification. 
Homework is to complete the hieroglyphics worksheets.

Monday, October 19--Welcome back from Fall Break.  We began reading in our
classroom newspapers about Life in Ancient Egypt.  No homework.
