What can I redo?

Only book reports, failed tests and DAP assignments may be redone for a
reduced grade. Book reports may be redone at any time, but tests and DAPs
only have a limited time in which to correct them.

Do you give extra credit?

A student may receive 10 extra points for being ahead on book reports or 5
points for correctly spelling the bonus word on the spelling test.

Why wasn't I notified that my child is failing?

You probably were. I give a grade summary report every 2-3 weeks. These
reports show all the assignments, and the grade the student earned for each
assignment. These reports must be signed and returned within one week. If
you have further questions, please call or email me.

How can my child have turned something in and you not have it?

You child most likely did not place it in the correct basket for turn in,
there was no name/incorrect heading on the paper, or he/she didn't follow
directions. Your child should immediately check his/her backpack and/or the
graded work basket/his file to check that it wasn't returned for lack of
compliance on the instructions.

Do you except late work?

No, unless it is a book report, which will be accepted for partial credit.

My child claims to never have homework, does he/she?

Yes. Students are given frequent homework in my class. They usually have a
weekly spelling assignment and they have book reports due every two Tuesdays.
Check your child's planner where he should be writing all homework
assignments. If you see nothing written in the planner, we can work out an
arrangement for me to check the planner every day prior to the student leaving
my class.
