I have twin daughters, Ava and Sofia, who will be three on September 19th. I
graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona. GO CATS!
I have been teaching language arts for 5 years at SMS. I love the English
language and enjoy teaching it to others. I adore learning new vocabulary
and expanding the knowledge of myself as well as my students. I take pride
in the fact that my classes are challenging and that I advocate independence
and responsibility in my students. I look forward to helping your child
succeed in both Language Arts and in their new middle school world.
The mission for my class is to learn English to the best of his/her ability,
to work hard, become and remain a responsible, independent young person who
takes pride in themselves and his/her accomplishments. I want my students to
want to do things for themselves as well as to welcome responsibility and
independence. I expect the students to understand that this is their
education, not mine and not their parents', so therefore, they must work the
hardest at achieving it. My job is to help them succeed, not to succeed for
them.
