ALL students need to have a book or magazine with them when they
come to class.
HOMEWORK:
Language Arts students are required to read 20 minutes each
night. They may read any book, magazine, comic book, newspaper, etc. that
is appropriate. If they have Science or Social Studies homework, they may
use the reading for their homework as part or all of their reading time. The
goal is to have the students reading :) When they have completed their
required reading time, there is a Reading Log that needs to be filled out with
parent's and/or guardian's initials. The Reading Logs are on purple paper and
will be checked every Friday.
Every two weeks, students in my classes will be receiving progress
reports to take around to their teachers. The progress reports will require
the students to have each of their teachers sign and put the student's grade
at that time, along with any missing assignments they may have. The progress
reports also require a parent's signature. The progress reports are printed on
bright green paper.
Students also have spelling packets due every Friday. They
receive the spelling packet the first day of the school week and have until
Friday to complete. On Friday the students will be given a spelling test.
