WOW!  It is already nearing November, and I have not updated this resource all
year!  I will try for the remainder of the year to update my TeacherWeb page
at least once a week, if not more.

For this week (Oct 26- Oct 30), we are working on our body systems projects. 
The students had a choice of three options and they were to choose one of
those three to learn more about the body systems.  You will find the project
description page below.

Options and Descriptions

Option 1:  Letter to the Human Body Corporation
As a body organ, you have been a long time employee of the Human Body
Corporation.  Due to the cost increases, your company has to downsize its
number of employees.  Some organs will be fired.  Your job is to write a
letter to the Human Body Corporation defending your position in the company. 
In your letter, you will need to describe to your bosses the following
characteristics of your organ and explain why you are important to the Human
Body Corporation.

1.	Tell what the name of your organ is and where you are located
2.	Identify what systems of the body you work with
3.	Describe how you work with these systems
4.	List the other organs that work with you in your system
5.	Describe your main functions as a Human Body organ
6.	Tell the bosses how you perform these functions
7.	Tell the bosses why you are important to the Human Body and why they should
not fire you
8.	Explain what might happen to the Human Body if they did fire you
9.	Make a labeled drawing of your organ

Option 2:  Travel Brochure of the Body Systems
You are a travel agent for a travel company like Orbitz, or Travelocity.  You
are to design a travel brochure of a tour through the Human Body Systems. 
This brochure will include all the most popular spots to see and visit,
exciting activities to do while in the systems, as well as the imports and
exports of the area (what does the area bring in and send out).  You will also
mention any dangers or special precautions that tourists might run into while
visiting the systems.

Option 3:  Body Systems Poster (will be done in pairs)
You will trace one of your bodies on butcher paper.  In that drawing, as a
team you will draw 4 body systems in the appropriate areas.  You can choose
from the respiratory system, skeletal system, muscular system, circulatory
system, nervous system, or the digestive system.  You will need to label the
organs for each system.  You will also need to have 3 facts per body system,
describe the function of each system and describe how these systems work
together.
