About The Teacher

I am 25 and have been teaching for exactly  1 1/2 years.  I have been a
musician all my life (my dad is a music teacher) and I started playing Horn at
the age of 11.  I have been involved in Bands, Orchestras and Choirs almost
every day of my life since then.  I love teaching music and I REALLY love
teaching music to middle schoolers.  
To me, middle schoolers are the greatest people in the world.  They are so
full of energy and life - everything around them is exciting and dramatic.  In
fact, most of them live as if they are involved in a daytime drama and I find
this infinitely fascinating and amusing.  Middle Schoolers have such potential
and they are not afraid of anything.  I love working with them because if you
treat them right and really care, they will do ANYTHING and they will never
know it is "too hard" for them.  I am so excited about this job.

Mission For The Class

My mission for my classes is simple:  I want my students to become musicians;
to be able to read any music with good sound, proper technique and utter
confidence in their knowledge and abilities.  I want them to be so strong in
the fundamentals of music that they are able and willing to take risks in
music and truly enjoy creating something.  I want them to own their musical
experiences.  It will be a lot of hard work, but it will most definitely pay
off in the end.  And even if they do not continue their musical studies after
my class, I want them to have a great musical experience and to walk away from
my class KNOWING that they learned something.
