What Parents Can Do

What Parents Can Do To Help

At School -
Please let your child walk into school rather than carry them, It would be
great if they can carry their own lunch box. This sends a silent message to
your child that you believe they are capable and independent, able to do
things for themselves.

At Home –
Have a consistent routine for mealtimes, bedtimes and bath time. Children
at this age thrive on consistency. They know what to expect and it builds
their security.

Have your child eat at a table, rather than walking around with food or
drink. The children must sit down at a table while eating and drinking at
school.

Have your child participate in as much as possible. Let them help with
fixing dinner, set the table, carry laundry, feed a pet, choose their own
clothes by giving them 2 outfits to choose from. Have clothes that are easy
for children to put on and take off themselves.
