We're down to the final week of this school year! What a great year it has been! This last week will be busy and be gone before you know it!
Monday: Team Spirit Day
Shadow Day for Kindergarteners going into 1st grade
Tuesday: Bring your favorite book to read and share
Wednesday: Treasure Day
Thursday: Pajama Day
Friday: Water Day
Half-day ALL SCHOOL!!!!!!
(There are still several time slots open for volunteers on Water Day. Please remember to send your
child to school this day in their swimsuit and sunscreen already on! They may bring a LABELED
towel and the MUST wear WATER shoes-no crocs or flipflops!)
Tomorrow, Friday May 17, will be our last Pizza Friday.
Also tomorrow is our last ceramics class (this past Tuesday was canceled and rescheduled for Friday) If you
are available to help, we would appreciate it.
Thursday May 23, we will have a police officer reading and talking with the kids at 9:00am.
We will be putting together a class DVD of the school year. Please send me any pictures that you have taken throughout the year, as large as you can.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up next week, Friday May 3rd and Monday May 6th. If you wish to have a conference with Katie, please sign up on the P/T Conference Sign Up. This is not a mandatory thing! Katie will be sending the reports home by Thursday May 2nd.
Our annual Mother's Day Tea is coming up on Friday May 10th, 9:30-11:30am. Please bring one piece of fruit for our Friendship Fruit Salad. Mom's if you cannot attend, please send a grandmother, aunt, friend, etc. in your place.
Please remember to send in baby pictures in a sealed envelope.
Please check the updated Baking Sign Up for needed items.
Don't forget to send in your ceramics order forms and sign up to bring in items and/or help for the Ice Cream Social.

Just a little over a month left of school and lots of things coming up:
This Friday is Cowboy Gary, so make sure your kiddos are to school on time!
Please remember to lather your kiddos with sunscreen before sending them off to school in the morning! Hats and water bottles are a must because the temperature is rising quickly! Please make sure the kids are taking their water bottles home each day to wash and refill.
Please bring your child's baby picture in an unmarked envelope (you can put their name inside so Katie knows who it is). Katie will place them on display and the kids try to guess who everyone is!
WE NEED AUCTION ITEMS FOR OUR CLASS BASKET! The deadline for these items is this Wednesday. If you can't bring in an item, feel free to drop off a check in the envelope in the main office for Nicole.
The Annual Auction Dinner is creeping up on us and besides our class basket there are many ways you can help out the school.
1) Attend the dinner: this is a fun evening and a great excuse to get dressed up 1920's style!
2) At the event, there's more to bid on than just those items you've seen on the "Wanted" list. Besides our themed basket, each class donates a piece of furniture. I've seen a great wine-cork mirror and our class will have a pair of cooly decorated kids chairs. There will also be a ceramic "Beast" from each class that our kids have been hard at work putting together for the auction. And the list goes on, but you won't know unless you attend!
3) Donate to the wine wall: minimum $10 bottle of wine.
4) Sell those raffle tickets!
Thank you for all the baking needs. The kids have been having such a great time baking.

Spring break is here! Please remember that the school is closed all week except for infants and all-day contracts. Under the Documents tab, you will find the Circle schedule that went home last week. Please remember to bring in items from the recyclable list that the children will be using for crafts.
Amory will be bringing snack this week during the break.
Please be sure to check the Baking sign ups before returning to school on the 18th. We will not be doing any baking over Spring break.
There are three weeks open in April for Ceramics helpers, please consider helping out-it's a lot of fun and you might just be able to make a masterpiece yourself!
The Auction is coming up in May, and with that each class donates a basket. Katie is getting the details as to the theme of the basket for us. Would someone like to take up the job of organizing it?
And finally, we'd like to welcome back Kassie! The kids missed her and are very happy that she is back and recovered!

Just a few reminders this week.
1) Please check the Baking Sign Up for our needs. The kids go through the eggs and milk pretty quickly making all those delicious popovers!
2) Kassie has been out this week and will be out all next week and Ruth has been assisting Katie and Fran.
3) Siddah is up next week for snack.
4) Spring break is coming up in 3 short weeks!

Just a reminder that this Friday is early dismissal at 11:30am. All-day contracts only after 11:30. There will be no Pizza Friday.
Next Thursday is Valentines' Day. The kids may bring Valentines' for everyone. Remember there are 21 kids in the class. Please do not make out cards to specific children, just your child's name in the "From" part. If your child can write their name, we encourage you to allow them to make out their own cards-you may want to start soon, writing a few out each day. They may attach a small piece of candy to the card, but please no big treats. They will be baking special popovers for the day.
Also for Valentines' Day, you can send your child and/or favorite teachers "Kisses" and "Smencils." You should have received a form last week. I will upload that form under the Documents tab as well.
Please check the Baking sign-up for needed items. The children have really enjoyed making the popovers!
The Annual Auction is coming up and there are many items needed for donations. I will upload the forms that went home last week under Documents. More details will be coming soon and will be listed under the Auction Basket tab.
President's Day is coming up on Monday February 18th and the school will be closed.
Alec is on the schedule for snack this week and Samuel will be next week

The Baking Sign Up has been updated for our new venture in popovers. The kids are doing a wonderful job and really enjoy baking. Encourage them to help you at home.
Remider that this coming Monday, January 21st is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the school will be closed for everyone.
Due to the Arctic Blast that has come through, Ceramics was cancelled for today and is rescheduled for Thursday January 17th. If you are able to help out on Thurdsday, please let Katie or Tricia know. Also be sure to have appropriate changes of clothing in your child's box for cold weather and be sure to label jackets and other wintery items.
We have several openings for Flower Sign Up. Please sign up to bring a nice bouquet of flowers to brighten up the classroom.
Do you have a love for art? If so, we are looking for a volunteer to lead Art masterpiece with the kindergartners. If interested, please contact Katie or Tricia for more details.

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone is well rested and ready to start back to school. Please remember to bring your nap items back to school on Monday and replenish your child's extra clothes box. Any new items being brought in, please remeber to mark with your child's name/initials.
