12/16/09 I am happy to report that the class has earned a Pajama Day/ Read-A-Thon tomorrow after spelling tests are given. Each child may bring:
* a small pillow and blanket
* books to read
* a music devise with age appropriate music or books on CD
* a small (non-electronic board game)
*1 small stuffed animal or lego
*slippers to wear in class
*school-appropriate pajamas
Everything they choose to bring must fit in their backpacks or a bag that they can carry themselves. Every child still needs a snack and lunch as well as their folder. Friday will be the Gingerbread party and Art Masterpiece. Thanks to all that have volunteered to help! Have a great break!
12/15/09 Thanks to all that signed up to help or bring things to the Gingerbread Party on Friday! If you signed up to help or would just like to attend, it would be great if you could arrive around 9:30. We would like to start at 10:00 am. I also will need a volunteer to cut the grahm crackers a night ot two before the party. I have them in the classroom. Please email if you can help with that project! It should be a fun day!

December Newsflash
Happy Holidays! Winter Break is right around the corner, so the next three weeks are packed! Following is a list of events to look out for this month:
- Friday (12/4) and Monday (12/7) are conferences and half days. Please remember to sign up for a conference on the class website. Students must be picked up by 11:30 unless they are currently signed up for the Circle Program.
- We will have our annual Latke party on December 11th at 1:00 PM. This is a fun day that requires some patient volunteers who like to cook and some food donations. Please sign up on the website.
- The annual Gingerbread House Party is December 18th! This is also a fun day that requires a bunch of patient volunteers and a few patient meringue makers! The sign up for this is on the website also!
- Henry Westphal’s family has taken care of Snowball, our rabbit, for the past few breaks. Thank you very much to them! It is now time for someone else to take a turn. If you can care for Snowball over the Winter Break (or a portion of it), please email me to let me know. She doesn’t require that much care and rarely comes out of her cage when she visits another home.
- We will have a class intern from the Middle School with us December 7th-11th and December 14th-18th. This is always a great experience for all of the students!
- Please remember to send a snack for your child daily (even Fridays!). We are experiencing a lot of hungry children again!
- Winter Break is December 21st through January 4th. Have a nice break!
- We will have our spelling tests on Thursday for the last week of school before the break, so we can just have the Gingerbread House Party on that Friday!
- Please remember to have your child read aloud to you over the Winter Break to keep up with fluency!
