This is my 6th year teaching at Wilson. I taught kindergarten for 2 years and
this will be my 4th year in first grade. I have previous experience in
kindergarten and second grade with the Department of Defense schools in Osan,
Korea and as a preschool teacher at St. Andrew's here in Tucson.
I have three sons who have provided me with numerous experiences, both
challenging and rewarding! I can definitely relate to being a parent! I
understand the challenges of raising kids and know that it's important and
tricky to balance school work, after school sports and activities, and family
time.
I believe that first grade students should be exposed to a variety of
experiences and that learning should be fun. I strive to provide many
hands-on, student centered activities that allow children to engage in active
learning. Students are encouraged to help each other and often engage in
cooperative learning activities.
