This week we learned about Fall, monsters, and pumpkins. On Friday we
had a great time making pumpkin art, sorting and adding M&M’s, and
eating donuts for the First Grade Fall Switch (a big thank you to those
families that sent in M&M’s and donuts). I would also like to thank Mrs.
Pernett, Mrs. Patch and Mrs. Carroll for helping with our special event.
Reading- We read lots of books about Monsters and Pumpkins. Please ask your
child to tell you about the book, "Where the Wild Things Are".

Writing- The students completed a comprehension activty for "Where the Wild
Things Are".
Math- This week we continued working on word problems and subtraction.
Science- We learned about the life-cycle of a pumpkin.
NOTES AND NEEDS:
Spelling: Next week is a review week for spelling. There will be no spelling
sentence. Please have your child study the 25 words in his/her homework
folder.
Silly Soap- Our class is in need of hand sanitizer. THANKS!!!
Socks: Please send an old (clean) sock to school with your child to use as an
eraser for his/her white board.
