My name is Keri Casper and I will be your child’s first grade teacher. I
was raised in Sothern California and I love going to the beach. I moved to
Arizona in 1997 to attend the University of Arizona. At the U of A I received
my degree in elementary education and played on the soccer team. As a student
athlete at Arizona I met my husband Jeff, who was on the baseball team. Jeff
and I love living in Tucson with lots of family and friends around.
This past school year I earned my Masters Degree in Early Literacy from
the University of Arizona. In addition to my Masters degree I also took
specific courses to receive my certification as a reading specialist. I truly
enjoy reading and love teaching children to read. To help and encourage a
child to read is an amazing gift.
This is my eighth year teaching first grade and I treasure each year that
I have taught. First grade is amazing! Your children will surprise you with
the growth they make both academically and as people. I love everything about
first grade, but my favorite thing is to see the children’s faces light up
when they have an idea, understand something, or when they just can’t wait to
share their new found knowledge. My goal this year for each child is not only
that they learn, but that they continue to develop a love for learning that
will last a lifetime.
