Mrs. Thom

I graduated from UBC with a 5 year Bachelor of Education degree and have been working in the
educational field for 32 years. Previously, I was a high/middle school teacher and Gr. 5/6 educator at
Nicomekl and Noel Booth Elementary. I live in Walnut Grove, so it had been a goal of mine to one day
teach at a school closer to home, and fortunately I was able to make the move to Gordon Greenwood
two years ago. Working with and teaching children continues to be my passion. My husband and I have
two daughters who graduated from the Langley Fine Arts School. Shelby is a broadcast journalist for
CKNW in Vancouver, and Breanna is in her last last year of studies at UBCO in Kelowna. I am really
looking forward to being in the classroom and having another positive educational experience with my
students, colleagues, and parent community at Gordon Greenwood!

Mrs. Boyce

I am looking forward to returning to Gordon Greenwood after a year of
maternity leave. Now that I am a mother to two young daughters, Brielle and
Arwen, I am excited to be back in the classroom. I will be teaching on
Wednesdays covering French, Art, Science and Computers/Technology. Before
receiving my teaching degree from UBC in 2008, I worked as an Animal Biologist
and have since participated with a district team to develop experiments that
support the BC curriculum. I hope to share my enthusiasm for Science and
research-based learning with the class. I feel fortunate to be a part of a
school with such a positive and collaborative school community and look
forward to a great year.
