Mrs. Thom

I graduated from UBC with a 5 year Bachelor of Education degree and have been
working in the educational field for 34 years. Previously, I was a high/middle
school teacher and Gr. 5/6 educator at Nicomekl and Noel Booth Elementary. I
live in Walnut Grove, so it had been a goal of mine to one day teach at a
school closer to home, and fortunately I was able to make the move to Gordon
Greenwood four years ago. Working with and teaching children continues to be
my passion. My husband and I have two daughters who graduated from the Langley
Fine Arts School. Shelby is a broadcast journalist for Global News in the
Okanagan, and Breanna is a Child Development Facilitator in Calgary. I am
really looking forward to being in the classroom and having another positive
educational experience with my students, colleagues, and parent community at
Gordon Greenwood!

Ms. Clipsham

I completed my undergraduate degree with a Psychology major at UVIC and
graduated from Simon Fraser University with an Education degree.  I am
extremely excited to teach in this class as Mrs Thom was my Grade 5 teacher
when I went to Noel Booth Elementary.  Being a lifeguard/swim instructor for
the Township of Langley for the past eight years has helped my teaching
profession. This is my second year teaching and I had the opportunity to do my
practicum in Oaxaca, Mexico and in Fleetwood, Surrey.  I worked at Topham
Elementary last year in a grade 1/2 classroom. I love being active and I play
tennis, do yoga, and I love to sing, bake, read and travel.  I hope to
incorporate my passions into the classroom so that the students can learn and
grow in their own passions. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone
and having a happy and healthy 2017. Here’s to the New Year!
