Hey Mr. Bramwell,my name is Marissa Frausto. Have you really never heard of fun? Well," "F" is for friends who do stuff together. "U" is for you and me. "N" is for anyone and anytime at all down here in the deep blue sea!"-Spongebob SquarepantsP.S. I'm not a Spongebob addict..i just know the song.
Hi Mr.Bramwell, it is me Faith Ford like the car. I hope you learn my name. You made me feel welcomed on the first day of school and I thank you for that. See you at school!!!
Faith, you and the others ARE welcome. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of the kids.
What's up Mr. Bramwell! So far so good, and I want you to know that I'm trying my best in your class and Mr. Seim was right about you. You have a good sense of hummor. P.S. Videogames still rock! Oh, by the way, have you ever played any kind of videogame?
In the 80s I played Qix, Pacman, and NHL Hockey.
For all you bloggers! I have a question! If you had three wishes what would use then on. P.S. Hope you are having as much fun as I am in 7th grade! ☺ ☻
Games are hindrances to our minds! Instead of spending hours on that game console, why don't we all just spend time at a park, tennis, or basketball court? This is the age of wasting our time and brainpower on videogames. What a disapointment! Anyways, New Jersey won today in preseason! Yipee! Remind me they're sure to win the Stanley Cup with Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalcuk; not to mention Travis Zajac!
Hello everyone! What a fantastic school year so far! Since December is approaching, I'd like to know where everyone's dream vacation would be. My vacation choice would be to Vancouver, Canada. I have this inexplicable admiration and desire to travel to Canada. Plus, I could go and watch a Canucks game. A beautiful city complimented by a beautiful sport.
Well, many places, in this world, are beautiful, but I have to say that I'll like to visit Paris, France. I don't know why, but it seems like a very alive city! The people seem very nice and It'll be nice to learn their ways and language.
To Serena and Roxana -In my opinion, I think that the most beautiful places in the world are the most unknown ones. I mean, Paris is BEAUTIFUL, don't get me wrong, but it's known for its man-made tourist attractions. I want to visit somewhere where I can just backpack around and wander.
Teacher- "Kids these days are smart." Sebastian(bro)- "Yes we are!" You know, for the first time other than on videogames, I agree with my bro.(WOW!) Does anybody else agree?
Right now i am thinking about all the other homework I have to do for your class! Oh my gosh my head hurts; I need asprin! What spelling word did i define?
KR, I admire your hard work. See your little i's? I do.
To be honest, I really don't think he actually leaves a lot of homework. The amount of homework we get now is just fine. Maybe, it's the pace that we work on.
Well, I love homework. I guess I'm a rarity, ha! However, homework is an excellent method for practicing and training our intellect. Homework is wonderful! Anyways, I really admire Jocelyn's comment on a vacation. It would be nice just to explore the world. Perhaps one day, we can grab our packs and just go. Let's just go anywhere!
Hello everyone! Who likes lobster?
I like "Rock Lobster."
Hi people of the future! I am wondering if anyone is doing anything unusual this halloween. Im carving watermelons. Did you see I used a compound word in that last sentence.
I have a great costume for halloween! ME! Isn't that the greatest costume ever made?! I'm so smart. What are you guys dressing up as?
Yeah, I might try out too. I want to, but let's see what my parents say. They're probably going to say yes.
Good luck, Katia! Also, wish me luck for the tennis team! I know you'll make it, and you'll probably even make it to varsity.
Good luck, Serena! I know that you'll do really good. I've never seen you play, but you're always talking about tennis and that it's your favorite sport, so i assume you're good at it. Of course, I am not a big tennis fan.
I might try out for basketball! :) Good luck Katia in soccer, and Serena in tennis! I am sure you guys will make the team!
Roxana- That makes me laugh a bit. I'm not that good as a tennis player, really. Although, I did beat John Phan 6-0 (last year student of 7th grade magnet). I still need a lot more practice! Thanks, though, and yes, I am quite obsessed with tennis. Good luck in tryouts! Sarah- You'll do great in basketball! Good luck! Maybe I'll go and watch one of your games next quarter!
Good luck Jocelyn,Serena,Sarah, and Roxana. Hopefully you will all burn off all the candy you ate on halloween! I hope my new nickname catches on. Go C.T.(magnet). =) -Jo-
We made the team! Good job Roxana, Maxine, Aisling, and Kiwi!
Congratulations to everyone who made either the soccer or tennis team! Good job! I know we all tried our hardest and best, and the hard work has paid off. Go CT! Go magnet!
Hey everyone how's life? I can't wait until the soccer game on Monday and Tuesday!!! Wish my team and I luck!!!:D I ♥ MAGNET!! Who agrees?
I agree! Good luck to the C.T. soccer team! I hope we do great and score many goals on Pioneer and Hewes. Go C.T. Magnet!
Hello everyone! I just wanted to say that tomorrow is Eid, a Msulim holiday. Sadly, I will not be able to celebrate it with my whole family because they are all in Lebanon or Dubai. I am really bummed out that another Eid, for the 10th time in a row, I will not be with them. Oh well; this is life, and it is not fair. Mr. Bramwell, what do you usually do on holidays? I am going to change the world, soon. Very soon.
SY, Disappointing indeed, but not hopeless. You have cause for celebration, so find an avenue. Bask in it! On holidays, I catch up on grading. :)
Well we did not beat Pioneer but we'll get them next time.
C.T lost again, but to Hewes. Sad, but I saw that we all had so much fun!!!♥:P :D GO BULLDOGS!!!!!
Hey, everyone! Yes, Katia and Kiwi, we did lose, but on Tuesday, we'll beat Orchard Hills! Then, on Thursday we'll beat Currie, too! Go Bulldogs!
I'm sad because Aisling Dwiggins left!!!:( She started crying!!!:(.......I miss her already!:(
Hi everybody! Today is the day of the Iron Bowl! I'm so excited and I hope Auburn wins. War Eagle! I was reading online somewhere that people think Alabama is going to win because the game is in Tuscaloosa, but they are wrong! If you do not follow sports and I am not smiling on Monday, you will know Alabama won. See everyone Monday!
Grr... Claire, Cam Newton is illegal (in my head). I'm very unhappy that Auburn beat Alabama 27-26. Alabama was winning 24-0 in the third quarter! I know you're going to rub it in my face.Anyways, who watched the Flyers, Devils game on Saturday? I was doubting my Devils, and they came out the victors. Yay! I love Parise and Zajac!
Serena, Auburn acually won 28-27 but the only thing that is important is that they won and that they are #1 in the leauge.Yay! And what I say to Oregon is HA!
Sad. Lakers have lost three games in a row!! For them, that is horrible!! Ok, so a lot of people know that I am the basketball girl and my world revolves around basketball (mostly). Every time I play basketball, I think of these "words" that inspire me. :) Basketball, it's just a game. But sometimes, it's more than that. Basketball teaches. It teaches that even if you don't win, there is still a chance to be a hero. Basketball, it's just a game. But sometimes it's more than that. Much more. These are the words that partially describe my affinity. Basketball is MY sport. It is the one and only thing that I love, enjoy, relate to, and the one thing that understands me. That's all I have to say. :) I will share more of my basketball stories later on, (that is if you want me to, though.)
Huh??? You actually think Auburn is going to win? I doubt it! I was watching Sports Center (sorry Mr. Bramwell, I can't kill Sports Center), and the analysts said they sensed an upset coming and that Oregon would take the title. We'll see! :)The CT girl's tennis team first match is on Monday! I hope to try my best! Hopefully I won't get annhilated by Pioneer!
We won vs. Currie!!!!:)
Hey guys! What do you all want to be when you grow up?
An ACTRESS!
I'd like to work for an international relief agency providing skills/labor that enable people who are destitute/suffering to have better lives.
Claire, Auburn is playing Oregon in the National Championships! Go Oregon!!
I would like to be an ob/gyn (obstetrician/gynecologist). However, my real dream is to be a professional tennis player. After playing for a good ten years, I'll retire and be a sports anchor or commentator for tennis and establish a charity to help people in need (homeless, orphans, etc.)Well, that's my dream. Nothing bad about dreaming, right? Even if you're dream is so farfetch'd. :)
No, nothing wrong with dreaming. Just you're best to get there!
First of all..WOW, Serena. What an interesting job to dream of...haha.Second, I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I know that I'm in Magnet to plan and prepare for the future, but for some reason, I don't have anything planned out except to graduate from USC. I'm not the type of person that needs everything in order. Like life itself, I'm messy, complicated, and I want more out of everything. Whatever I do, I'm sure it'll be great but for now, my thoughts of my career are to just go with wherever life takes me.
I apologize for my grammatical errors. I was typing too quickly. "Even if YOU'RE dream?" Ha ha. Sorry. "Even if your dream" is what I meant." Yes, Sara. Go Oregon!!! I'm disappointed that Cam Newton won the Heisman Trophy. Right now, I'm watching the Kings vs. the Minnesota Wild. I love the Kings! They're (used it correctly this time) down 1-0 now, though. Hopefully they'll get to the finals in the Stanley Cup (and lose to Crosby and the Pens in the finals). :)
Who's watching the Dallas game tonight? I'm excited about that. I love the cowboys!
Right Side :)- When I grow up, I wish to become a basketball player, but everyone has those one-in-a-million dreams. Hopefully, I will be that one. A reasonable job that I would like when I grow would be a nurse. I will work my way up to a PHD and go back hometo Lebanon. I will teach the young and old there everything there is to know about nursing(since they do not have great nursing and doctors.) The people I would extremely love teaching, would be the poor, poor people. (Burj al Barajni, or Mokayam Shatella....(camps for the Palestinians)). To all my close friends- People are very mean in this world! Whatever they have in their heads, they do. They want to tear you apart from your closest friends. So many people are dealing with this sort of stuff this year(luckily not me), and it is really bothering me that no one learns how to get along with everyone and keep their mouths shut when they overhear things. People should stop hating, because that will get them no where in life. Learn to love. <3 Personally, I do not "believe" in the word hate and neither should anyone else. A goal that I have for this year is to bring everyone, all of magnet students, back together no matter what it takes. I will hear rude remarks, but who cares? People only say things like thatbecause they want to be just like you. Understand that! People deeply love you, but just hide it. 7th grade should be a new blank page. You are only going to be in 7th grade once, so make the best out of it. Enjoy being a kid and just have fun! If you ignore what people say about you, there is no way those words can hurt you. I am trying to help people have a great year. Hopefully I gave you something to think about and learn. :) -Mr. Noodles/Flower :)
Oh, sorry! In my comment, I meant "Just TRY you're best to get there."
I agree with Right Side. Everyone should just get along and stop spreading rumors! People need to learn to stay out of other people's private and personal business.
Sara you are Right Side, I am Left Side. Haha! :P Mr. Bramwell, I have to thank you ans Ms. Magner so much for putting together and excellent field trip. I really enjoyed it (mostly the train ride). Hahaha! Thank you! :) Sarah
Oh, sorry Sarah, I forgot! That field trip was so much fun! Thanks to Mr. Bramwell, Ms. Magner, and all the chaperons that came with us. Love you all!!!! :)
I loved bowling! We should do more socail activities outside of school; I enjoy bonding with my 7th grade magnet peers! :) I love this year so much because of the teahers!! :D Sad. Claudette left :'(
Yes, thank you to all the teachers and chaperones who made our field trip possible. Thanks especially to Ms. Magner and Mr. Bramwell. All of magnet really appreceiate what you do for us. Well, most of us do. The bowling was a pleasure! Thanks, and have a great vacation! Oh Sara, that's great you like the Cowboys! They're awesome despite their controversy. However, Chargers, Rams, and Colts rock the NFL! Come on Jocelyn, join me in supporting the Chargers! I like so many teams that it's funny! Those I listed are just a few. It's quite sad there aren't any NHL fans in class despite Mr. Bramwell and me.
I'm really sad that Claudette had to leave CT. I pretty much only laughed or smiled around her and I only stayed and enrolled at CT because of her. I think Carole, Simran, and I will have the hardest time dealing with her not at school with us to make everyone laugh. Claudette does live in the same city as me, though, and we always go to the Spectrum with Carole! It'll be alright. :)And Serena - You already KNOW that I love the Chargers! I went to the game a couple of days ago. I had field seats! It was so much fun. My mom knows some of the players, so it's fun to meet them! (I met Gates, Rivers, and Merriman!) The bowling trip was a great way to have Magnet kids bond! It was also a good time for everyone to say goodbye to Claudette. I agree with Sarah..we should have more social events!
Magnet students: Check this out- Hi, My name is Alemar Brito, and I am a senior at Sage Hill School. I want to know the best time or the best method to arrange a visit in order to talk some of my past teachers. I came from Columbus Tustin Middle School's Magnet Program, and I wanted to let my teachers know that they were very influential and made me a stronger person. I have recently been admitted to Princeton University on a full ride scholarship and want to inform my teachers that because of them, I was inspired and motivated to work hard. Hopefully they will still remember me, and I just want to encourage them to keep on teaching. Thanks for your time and also for your contributions to the school.
Mr. Bramwell-Isn't that the email you read us in class from a former student? Jocelyn-I am sorry that Claudette left. You guys were like sisters. I cannot imagine one of you without the other. It's a good thing that you guys can still see each other outside of school, and it is sad that she left. No one can do anything about it though. It is the way life goes.
Yep. I hope it's read often.
That's, in some aspects, riveting. Wow! A full ride to Princeton? I can't believe that! Wow! To Jocelyn: I hope you, Carole, and Claudette can continue your relationship, as I know you were the closest of friends. Good bye, Claudette! I'll miss you, too. In the next place, wow! FIELD SEATS! Your mom actually knows some of the players? I would love to meet Phillip Rivers one day.Mr. Bramwell! Are you going to watch the Nadal- Federer charity exhibition match? It will be on ESPN2 (December 21) at 2 PM or 2:30 PM. I'm also excited about the Winter Classics game on New Years Day. Penguins vs. Capitals. Poor Capitals! An eight game losing streak must suck for them!
Go Federer!! I love them both, but Federer's just more awesome! :)
... Speechless! Sara, you actually watch and track some tennis?! You are officially one of my best friends now. That's great! I mean that's great that you like Federer more. Federer's the best. He's the greatest player and gentleman of the sport. I don't like Nadal. I'm glad someone agrees with me! Go Federer!
You thought it would never come, but after 20 MILLION years (or so it seems to me) it's finally here. Christmas! YAY! I love christmas, but i also miss school for some odd reason. I hope you guys have someone to celebrate Christmas with! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Are you guys having a nice break? Did you guys think of something to do for our science project? Are you guys done with your homework? Sorry, too many questions to ask in so little time. Are you, no I'm just kidding. No more questions.
Mr.Bramwell, if you read my first comment about Christmas, don't think I love christmas just for the presents. I love Christmas because i get to spend time with my family. Well, I guess I like the presents too.
Serena- I love tennis! It's one of my favorite sports. I came home from Vegas today. We went to the Vegas bowl. Boise State won against Utah 26-3! Go Broncos!
Wow! I just came back from Vegas today! What a coincidence that we went to Vegas almost on the same days. I'm so glad Boise State won! I'm a huge fan of Kellen Moore. I wish more people could enjoy and watch tennis. It's really a great sport! Well, Sara, we have many similarities! We both enjoy tennis and American football! Go Oregon!
I am quite devastated that Georgia University lost to the University of Central Florida. I guess I have to get over the loss and just look forward to the New Year's Day Winter Classic game!
Happy New Year to everyone!!! I'm so excited for the National Championships. I hope Oregon wins!I'm in Arizona right now, visiting family. I miss everybody!
Lakers lost! Lakers lost! Lakers lost! (Well, the other day they won, but that doesn't matter!!) This year Miami Heat will win!! Dwayne Wade and LeBron James are awesome!!:D I'm a Heat fan!:)
Serena- Who won the tennis match? I didn't get a chance to watch it... I was in Vegas and Arizona.
KR, -Academic writing/punctuation please.
Hi Mr. Bramwell! I hope your enjoying your last day of brake. :) For the pentathalon pre-test next Saturday, will we actually be taking a test, or will they walk us thorugh how the competition works?
Happy New Year everybody! Sara, there were two exhibition charity matches. One match was held in Switzerland and the other in Spain (honoring the two players' nationalities). Roger Federer won in three sets in his country, and Nadal did the same in Spain. Sarah, I absolutely despise the Heat! Go Lakers and Celtics! I'm in sorrow because the Penguins lost to the Capitals in the Winter Classic, and I did not get to watch the game because I was at a wedding. What a sad winter break! Go Rams!
Thanks Serena! I'm watching the Seattle-ST. Louis game right now. Go Seahawks! They haven't been very good lately, but I've always loved the team.
Some people in yearbook misspelled my name and the page is already published!! Hahahaha! It is actually kind of funny because they change they way the spell my name everytime they have to identify me! :) They should poofread more. Now my name is spelled a couple ways. :P
Serena lied to me, and I am mad her!!! HAHA, no I am not. She said that the Lakers won on Saturday, but they did not! (I never watched the game, because I was busy.) Serena, Lakers are going down!!! It's all about the Miami Heat and Celtics! :) Yes, I know I am very weird and crazy! That's just who I am!! :DDD
Hey! (: There have been a lot of posts about sports lately. I don't really watch tennis, but I do enjoy playing it for fun. I am into playing volleyball and I used to be on the SoCal swim team. Volleyball is my main sport, though. It lets out a lot of my anger. During the volleyball season last year, I played center. For that position, there is a lot of diving involved. I pretended that the ball was someone or something that I really loved, and it worked. It helped me get first string for every game. Do any of you play volleyball?
Hi peeps! I hope Pentathlon is as fun as last year! It was SO worth the time spent for studying, etc. Anybody that didn't want to be in it, you are MISSING OUT ON A TOTALLY EPIC THING! Hope to see new people entering it instead of just the peeps from last year! We're doing Japan, right? If so, then I guess it's cool because I'm hoping to learn Japanese from one of those language learning things on the computer anyway, so that's cool. See you guys tomorrow!
Jocelyn- I don't play volleyball, but I love watching it. It's amazing to watch professionals!
Jocelyn(BB)-I love playing volleyball with some friends for fun. I do not watch it much though. It is really weird, becuase I was just outside with my neighbors playing volleyball. Haha! :)
Sara, I can't believe you like the Seahawks! Just kidding! I'm not a fan of them. I haven't been ever since they beat the Rams, who should have made it to the playoffs. Go Sam Bradford!Sarah Yacoub, I'm sorry if I got any scores wrong. I don't track basketball as much as football, hockey, or tennis. It's great to hear people have diverse interests in sports! Jocelyn, I don't play, but like Sara, I do love watching pros and collegiates play! I agree! It's absolutely amazing to observe any sport professional play!
Hi everyone! This is the first time I have blogged. I've read a lot of the comments and they have mostly been about sports. I'm not really a big sports fan.:( P.S. I know "a lot" is a dead word, Mr. Bramwell.
Serena-That's fine. I know it was an accident. :) What are some ways to stop bullying and lying?
No offense Mr. Bramwell.
Sarah, there really aren't a lot of ways to stop bullying. I know school promotes "anti-bullying" but kids aren't always going to listen to whatever school tells them. The best thing to do is to just ignore the negative comments being made. You know (maybe more than anyone) that I get "bullied." It annoyed me for the longest time and I would come home crying. My resolution for this year is to just smile through whatever. So far, I've stuck to this resolution. It works and life has been a lot easier and enjoyable. For lying...you can't stop that because you can't control another person and their choices. Life is unfair sometimes, but you just have to make the best of it. :)
Anytime you are bullied at CT, I need to know it. Please allow me to intervene. What about this report coming out of Tucson?
Michael did you look through the whole list of comments?
Joce- Ya, I know. I am doing the same thing, but I have been ignoring for too long. I am always here to listen to what you have to say. I wonder who told you the last sentence before? Maybe a girl named Sarah Yacoub? Lucky guess. HAHA<3 Mr. Bramwell- I will notify you when there is bullying. :)
There is no time to do anything anymore in this world. Everyone's (parents mostly) are always busy with work and school and college and their classes and who knows what!!:( I am very curious. This is to everyone. When you tell your parents if you can go over to a friend's house, do they say, "But I don't know their parents?" Do your parents have to know that person and their family?? Imagine if all of 7th grade magnet lived on the same street?!?! Man, that would be awesome!! :D Tomorrow will be by thirteenth year, and for the first time, I do not feel excited. I have no idea why.
Sarah- Happy birthday!!! You should be so happy... why aren't you?
Haha, Sarah. Yeah. That sentence totally came from you. (; You're a great advice giver. To the parents question, sometimes they say that. My dad usually says that he needs to know the parents first before I can hang out with someone. My mom really doesn't care too much about that, though.Does anyone watch Glee? I started watching it over break. I watched every episode in three days! Haha. Gleek much? (: Does anyone else think that Matthew Morrison (Mr. Schuester) looks like Mr. Bramwell?Mr. Bramwell, I accidentally called you Mr. Schuester today.
Thank you Right Side!! I love you:)! Yesterday was a busy day, and I just wasn't looking forward to my birthday. I mean WOOHOO I am a year older, but when I was 12 I had the best year. I saw my family and I just enjoyed it. I am always happy; I just have levels of happieness.HAHAH Of course I am happy it's my birthday!!!! I turn 13 in an hourish! Haha:)
Thank you everyone for all the AMAZING birthday wishes!! You guys are awesome! BIG BIG BIG thanks to Sara! I love you Right Side! Thank you Anela; you are a great friend! Thank you to everyone else(again)!! :)
Ahem... I would like to say a few words everybody. Happy birthday Sarah!!!Happy birthday to you; Happy birthday to you; Happy birthday to Sarah; Happy birthday to you!
Nice one T.
Thank you Tommy!
At the shrine of friendship never say die, let the wine of friendship never run dry. (Les Miserables)
Who's loans? Very inspiring quote! :)
Hi everyone! Enjoy the three- day weekend (although it's a great time to catch up and study!). Congratulations to Sarah and Anela for their achievements! Another year in your life has gone by, Sarah! Make sure your 13th year is more special than all the rest! The Australian Open is coming up! I'm so excited, and there are so many potential first round upsets! Mr. B, I'll email the draw to you, and perhaps one day we can play together!
The Clippers just ended the Lakers winning streak and they had a little dispute near the end of the game.
Hai gaiz! ^_____^Haha, just kidding. Hi! I miss you guys. Especially Carole and Jocelyn! :DI am actually at Jocelyn's casa right now. Yes, I speak Spanish. Hi Mr. Schuester, I mean Bramwell. Hello there! How are you guys? I am having fun living in the hills like Jocelyn now. Haha. Jocelyn is laughing a lot right now because I am being very silly. We are going to the Mission Viejo Lake tomorrow. How f-u-n. YAY. Goodbye. Peace out homiez.
Hi Mr. Bramwell.I promise I will do better in your class. I have already started focusing on homework. Thanks for the motivation. - Cindy Lopez
Janette-WOOOHOOOO!!!!They lost, but to the Clippers?!?!?!!? That is just embarrassing and sad! It's all about LeBron James! :) (I do not have anything against the Lakers, they are awesome! I love them, great team, great achivements!! LeBron James is just better. HAHA!)
Hi CL. Make the promise to yourself. Go after your education!
Heyo! Isn't Claudette so FEISTY in her comment? She totally wrote it herself. (;I have a question. Do I look Asian to you guys? Haha, weird question, I know. Somehow, people always think that I am Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Hawaiian, Filipino, Indian, or something mixed with European. Do any of you get questioned a lot about your ethnicity?
I was just reading all the blogs and I saw a blog about the seahawks which got me thinking about that day in home ec when I accidently called them the sea gulls... But it was sooo funny! I just remembered that and I just wanted to post something.
JJ, Pay attention to blog rule 2, if you want your entries to see the bright lights.
Eh hem! Sarah, the Heat also lost to the Clippers the other day. Jocelyn, I find it very common and annoying that people get Asian ethnicities all mixed up. What I mean is that people automatically think many Asians are Chinese. I also find that funny. Joce! Of course you look Asian! I should probably stop typing in fear that speaking about the Asian race might spark anger in some way.
Ryan (Pocket Size)- That time in home ec was so funny! Remember when you called the Kinect the Kindle?...Oh, those were good times:).
Oops. Sorry. I'll double-check my comment next time.
Talent develops in tranquillity, character in the full current of human life.
Claudette, what part of correct grammar don't you understand? Sheesh! When I scrolled over this, all I could really see was Sarah's name. Oh and, yes there are guys here. Do you guys, not see guys' names on here? That's funny.
hahaha I remember that day too!
HAHAHAHAH Simran! :P I am just everywhere...EVERYWHERE! :D Haha, no I am not. I am just wild, a wild girl, a wild...MONKEY! :)
Hey people! It's Joey... I think. I found a coin inside a blue and pink cheeseburger. It said: "><><><>" I do not know what that mea- Wait never mind... Hehe... Sorry, guys, I figured it out....
A depressing day! John Isner got knocked out by Cilic in a five-setter, and my favorite, Sam Stosur, got beaten by Petra Kvitova, my second least favorite tennis player. Also, Petrova and Tomic got beaten (what do you think Mr. Bramwell, is Tomic genuine?). I really like Bernard Tomic's game, though (and his sunglasses). Also, Shahar Peer lost in three sets, and unfortunately, I have a feeling Agi Radwanska will lose to Shuai! I'm preparing the towel to sob on when all my favorites lose. Just kidding! I don't think I'll cry, but I'll be close to it. :)
"Aim above morality. Be not simply good; be good for something." -Henry David Thoreau
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." -Oscar Wilde
Oh my gosh! I just remembered a really funny story! :D Ok, so I was with two kids(3/4 year olds). (Kid#1 and Kid#2) Kid#1 tells Kid#2- "Hey, I am going to my grandma's house for my birthday." Kid#2 tells Kid#1- "That's cool! How old are you turning?" Kid#1 tells Kid#2- "Well, in 6 years I wil be 10!" Kid#2 asks Kid#1- "Cool! What's your grandma's name?" Kid#1 answers Kid#2- "Grandma." Kid#2 says to Kid#1- "No way...That's my grandma's name too!!" HAHAHAHAHAHA! It was really cute...and funny!
Ugh.
Mr.Bramwell, why "ugh"?
Mr. B- Who's "????"? Why aren't people putting their names?!?! Those are very insiring quotes! :) I like them!! :D
Nice! I love that one quote, the be yourself one. It was one of my favorites.
Hello people. How is it going? Well, I wanted to say that I appreciate all my Magnet friends and I'd like to thank you guys for everything, because you guys rock my external world. :D
Hey, Mr. B. Why so glum? Stay positive..(:I noticed some quotes! Here's a good one: "Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for." This was spoken by the inspirational Bob Marley. I hope that gave you all an eye opener. (:
Here's a quote from my dad. It always helps me when I'm having some problems. "What others think of you is not as important as what you think of yourself." It really does help when people are putting you down. Anyways, the "anonymous" people are breaking the blog rules, right? Jocelyn, I love your quote! Is anybody excited for the Aussie Open finals?
Hey SerenaYour dad's quote is really inspirational. My dad's side of the family was watching the tennis game in Melbourne, I think, last night! I was up until 2:30 a.m.! I must say, it was actually hard to walk away from the TV. Ferrer is a really good athlete! My dad hates Murray because of his "anger issues." Haha. My dad's family is partly Cambodian, Serena. Connections. (;
Yep! Cambodian pride. Ha ha. Jocelyn, is your mom's side Cambodian, too? It was a great match, but I had to go to sleep at 9:00 because I was terribly ill. Ugh! Yay! Tennis fans! Ha ha. My dad doesn't really like Murray either because of his arrogance. It's funny because when Murray was scolding himself and saying "Andy!" I thought it was Ferrer saying "Andele!" Anyways, I love David Ferrer and can't wait to see Li Na vs. Clijsters. I'm hoping for a Chinese win! Go Djokovic! Also, did anybody watch the hilarious NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft?
Serena - My mom's side is Vietnamese and partly French. I don't speak any language other than English, though. I do understand some Vietnamese, but I'm not able to speak it. I wish I was more in touch with my culture, but my parents are young, Americanized, and they're not the stereotypical Asians either. You should teach me Cambodian! (:
Oh you're just like me! I can understand a lot of Cambodian, but it's much harder for me to speak it. Anyways, I'll teach you the few words I know! I also might go to Cambodian school during the summer, so if you want, you can come and study Cambodian with me.
Today was a glum day...but once I saw Mr.Seim... I knew every thing was going to be okay..:)Whenever you see me glum just say "Kiwi..why are you such a fruit?..." it will make my day. :)>3
Hey people! Okay, so I was reading my book, right? And then the word just like pops out at me. The word is nil. Isn't that just so cool? Last year, we were learning the word ambiance. I was watching a movie, and the actor says ambiance. What a coincidence! :]
Hi everyone! Hopefully you're enjoying your four day weekend. I've been really looking into universities and colleges and would just like to ask all of you one important question (Well it is to me). What college or university would you like to attend? Here's my list of the seven schools I wish to be enrolled in. Harvard's on top! What do you think Mr. B? 1. Harvard 2. Yale 3. Columbia 4. Stanford 5. Penn State 6. John Hopkins 7. Duke
SL, It would be awesome to attend a high powered school like those on your list. I notice that graduates of prestigious universities long champion their alma maters. To me, just going to school is important. I think your local community college has much to offer.
Hey guys! How come nobody has been writing recently?
Isn't this just amazing?!I had to take basketball pictures for yearbook, and the teams(boys) lost! I got upset and frustated, and people(in the crowd) were just laughing at me. I have to say, boys JV played well. Good job Matthew and Joey. :)
I don't like reading anymore.I am reading a book, and in every sentence I will find something grammar related. Like infinitives or prepositional phrases. Then my head hurts and I can't read!
Hey everyone(mostly Beta people). I am sorry that today I couldn't finish my poem. I couldn't finish it. When I read the second line, I thought about my cousin, who is not with me anymore. I just couldn't hold my tears back and let them flow. So many people were upset with me that I didn't finish it because they like my poetry. Tomorrow, I will try to read it, or maybe have someone read it to the class. I am sorry once again. I have many more poems that I would love sharing with everyone.
Hi Mr.Bramwell im in Missouri and its really different than California...anyways you would be correcting them right and left because their grammar is SO incorrect. Well hope ya'll are enjoying your spring break see ya'll later. Thats it folks....
Hope ya'll can remember what an apostrophe is for. Have fun FF.
Hey everybody! I recently attended some UCI tennis matches and absolutely loved the number one men's player. I researched about him and stumbled upon some articles about his troubled past. I believe it is an amazing and inspirational story, and I would be glad to share it with you. Here's the link. I also have a copy of it if you would like to read it. www.newuniversity.org/.../
Hello there guys!! I'm just spending my wonderful spring break with Claudette-y! She says hello
Hey everyone! I just wanted to tell you Mr. B that Tessa Horner is probably going to go to Chapman next year. Here's a question to ponder: Would you rather have the abilily to talk to animals or the ability to speak every language in world? -LCF
Hey, I'm really sad right now becasue last night about 150 tornados hit Alabama and all my aunts/uncles and my grandparents don't have any power. A lot of damage was done in Tuscalusa which is where University of Alabama is. More than 200 people are dead or missing. -LCF
Claire, That is really sad. I hope your relatives are fine! I would also enjoy speaking every language in the world because aminals and I have a connection. I don't talk to them, but they talk to me. Haha. :) Jocelyn- Tell Claudette I said hi! I am glad you guys are/were having a great time together. :)
Sarah - That wasn't actually me who posted. That was Claudette on my computer. She found out my password. Why am I up this late on a school night? That I do not know. The school year's close to ending. I'm really going to miss you all over the summer!
Claire- My aunt, uncle, and cousins live in Alabama too. The tornado missed their house by about a mile. I hope your family is safe. Serena-I'm watching the news right now. That is amazing! After about 10 years he has finally been caught.
LCF, undoubtedly the language of the animals. Their story is untold; their experiences are so different than our own. I wonder what the large brained animals know.
Hey all you bloggers out there. I just wanted to tell you the Friday is Endangered Animal Day! I think it would be cool if we dressed as animals. Not like Ke$ha animal, but wear cat ears or leopard print. Friday is also my kitten's supossed birthday. Hoooooray! Did I spell supossed right. Claire will probably tell me after looking in her dictionary. Anyway, I was currently informed that I MUST go to bed immediatly. So.......bye!
By the way, I can speak with animals too! Meow meow meeeeeeeeeeew! < That means "Good night!"
Oh! So that's why you were wearing a tail yesterday... I was wondering...
Thank you Mr. Bramwell and all the chaperones for the field trip! It was very interesting. If I hadn't gotten sick I would have probably enjoyed it even more, but unfortunatley I wasn't feeling well and couldn't completely think correctly. I enjoyed what I got out of the field trip though! Thanks again Mr. B!! :)
Sodapop is so HOT!!Who loves OUTSIDERS?
Kiwi, I love The Outsiders, but i think you mixed up Sodapop with Darry :)
DALLAS WON!!!I am like so happy! I know I wanted Miami to win, but this time Dallas deserved it! :D
Hey! It's 12:30 a.m. right now. I had a Red Bull earlier...Yeah, not a good idea. Technically, since it's June 16th, this is my last day of being a seventh grader! Maybe this comment will be posted, maybe it won't. If anyone reads this, please know that I love you ALL and I'm so glad I got to meet everyone. I became so much closer to a lot of good friends this year. Although I do regret some things I might have said or done, this year was a good year. I'll miss you all so much over the summer- even you, Mr. Bramwell! To Sarah - So I called LeBron James...he didn't answer. Guess he doesn't know what a RING sounds like, huh?AND... Don't ask LeBron for a dollar. He only has seventy-five cents; he's missing the last quarter!Haaaaah! Okay, good night. Sort of. (:- The Boss
Joce-HAHAHAHAHAAH, yup that's LeBron for you. :) Everyone have a great summer! I had an excelent time with every single person. Those memories will not fade away. Stay in touch!! :) Mr. Bramwell-This year has been amazing with you! You have taught me so well, and I truly appreciate all your hard work. Without you, I would have not gotten 9th place in your class. Hope you have a great summer!! :) -Sarah Yacoub :)
Hey, in 8th grade, if someone didn't gor to promotion, does that mean they get held back? Just curious.(:
No, SY. The student misses the celebration but gets a shot at the next grade level.
I have nothing to do this summer but cry. :/
KR. Why so sad? Remember to blog on the other site now that you're a big bad 8th grader.
Hi Mr. Bramwell. I am Ananya's little sis. I am really psyched to go to your class next school year! :D
Hi Meghna. I like your positive outlook for next year. Seventh grade is a lot of work, but if you keep your head down, you'll do fine. Have some fun this summer.
Hello Mr. Bramwell, I am Thomas. I look forward to being in your class this year.
Hi TG. I like your positive outlook too. I can't believe you kids are thinking about school already... Have some fun; I'll be interested to hear who did what.
Hey,Mr.Bramwell. I can't wait to be in your class next year. Do you have any books to recommend? If you do can you tell me please I'm really bored and I want to read to past the time.
Hi Naomi. Bored? It is the curse of the young I suppose. Books? Let's see- Call of the Wild; To Kill a Mockingbird; The Pearl; Eagle of the Ninth; Out of the Dust; search the Internet for middle school literature lists. Often the titles will be separated into genres. See you soon.
Hello Mr.Bramwell. I 'm Daniela, but I go by Dani. I can't wait for school to start so I can be in your class. I have one question to ask you. Will you be at the registration tomorrow? I would like to meet you in person.
Hi Daniela. I was there. I think we met. Ya'll are too kind with the "I can't wait to be in your class" comments. By year's end I imagine it will sound more like "I can't wait to get out of your class." What a difference a year makes... See you soon.
hey mr.bramwell wats my name :P
Hi Mr. Bramwell!!! Just wanted to tell you that I am really enjoying your class. You are really nice and really funny!!! My brother says that you are a very good English teacher!!! Anyway, I hope I continue to have fun in your classroom. OH, I wanted to ask you something.....um......oh,I remember. Which quote is better?? I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death. -Leonardo da VinciorEnthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas.-Henry FordI love these two the most!! Which one do you like??????
RS, Your name is "You Did Not Use the Academic Language." Soon your message will disapper, but first I will use it to instruct others. Reread the blog rules and try, try again.
CP. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. I hope to be a worthy teacher. I like da Vinci quote best. It is much to live up to. What do others think?
hi MrBramwell! i heard you were mean and had no mercy but YOU'RE AN AWESOME TEACHER!:D you are super funny and you are able to teach at the same time! the point of this is.............................................. YOU ARE AWESOME
Hi, Bram-Bram ! -NicoleHi Mr. Bramwell! I'm having a great time in your class. I just wanted to let you know. OH, and was Bram-Bram your nickname in
OC. It's good to be momentarily awesome. The "no mercy" part is coming.NM, We don't pick our nicknames; they just happen.
Hey, Mr. Bramwell. I just came on to say hello. Bye!P.S. What is my MIDDLE NAME? (hint: it starts with an M.
Academic and aristocratic people live in such an uncommon atmosphere that common sense can rarely reach them. Samuel Butler A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle
Catherine, was that a comment that really came from you? No offense, but I almost had a coronary when I read that blog post and saw that it was posted by you.
THOMAS!!!!!!It was from me!!!! What do you mean you had a coronary. You don't think I can post something like that....GURRR!!!!
Hi Mr. Bram Bram, it's Ananya :DHave a wonderful birthday and I hope my sister doesn't give you as much trouble as I did this year. I miss being in your class. It was super fun! Hope to see you soon!!!Happy Birthday Mr. Bramwell!!!-Meghna
Thank you for the birthday wishes girls. Ananya, like you, your sis has much to offer our class. Fun? I don't know the meaning of the word.
Mr. Bramwell, if you don't know the meaning of a word, you should look it up. I think the person who told me was you, MR.BRAMWELL........right????
I can't wait until Christmas! Although it's only September... Almost October!!! ;)
Lauren, you can't wait until Christmas? What's wrong with "I can't wait for Thanksgiving?"
Christmas! Man, Lauren, I can't wait for well, ... tomarrow! Rikki Tikki Tavi Test!
Tomarrow? That's got a bit of an accent there. What about tomorrow? Plus, you should always try to capitalize your last name, unless your shift or caps lock key doesn't work with the letter i.
Daniel, what does Christmas have anything to do with the Rikki Tikki Tavi test?????
Perhaps the mongoose is a symbol of Christmas to Daniel, Catherine. (Weird if it is). Who knows?
Yes, Catherine it does because Rikki reminds me of Santa.
Mr.B, Why do girls put :], :0, :),;), :(? I do not understand the happy faces?
Girls...
Hey, I have seen guys put smiley faces. So there. Hey by the way did you guys realize you had an online conversation about Lauren not being able to wait fro Christmas?
The happy faces mean they are happy or sad!(:
Oh Thomas Gim... You would be a good teacher!
Daniel,We are girls, we are awesome, and we can beat any boy ANYWAY!!!!! So you CANNOT judge USSSSS!!!!!! P.S. Did you hear Steve Jobs died!!!!
Hi Mr. Bramwell. What are you doing for Thanksgiving? I'm going zip lining.
Boohoo! Steve Jobs died. Sniff sniff. (How'd ya like my onomatopoeia there, Mr. Bramwell?) What is Apple going to do without him and his awesome ideas? Oh well. Maybe people will start paying attention to Samsung now. But nobody wanted him to die at a (relatively) young age of 51!
Sorry make that 56.
NM, Something fun. Where will you zip?TG, Sad day for SJ's family and friends and Co.
But Mr. Bramwell, I thought you were the one that said, "Fun? I know not the word."
Mr. Bramwell, Can't you just help but wonder where will all his money goes?? Like will it go to his kids or to a charity, or will it go into the company?? I wonder!!!!
CP, It didn't cross my mind. I wonder though, what would ya'll do if you had big money?
I'm going to Catalina to go zip lining. Oh TG, Kyle says hi.
Steve Jobs has a lot of money, but Apple just pays him a dollar a year, due to his consistent requests. He probably got a lot of money before he started making Apple pay him a dollar a year.
Thomas, how do you know that he makes only a DOLLAR a year!
What's zip lining? Is it fun? It sounds like something I want to try! Wait. Let me get my electric organizer, press menu, press What I want to do in the future, type in zip lining...
You should try kayaking in Catalina. It's always fun to knock into your friend's boats or splash them with water. (Don't try this in your bathtub kids.) Tell Kyle hi from me.
Hello, Mr. Bramwell. How is it going? Are you okay?
When my brother was in sixth grade, the place where he went camping, got to go zip lining. They also got to fish with marshmallow!!!! Too bad we didn't get to do that!!!
Because I've actually read about Steve Jobs! He has money through shares and reimbursements. Not his salary. Read here:techland.time.com/.../
I'm well AV. How is your life going?
Hi Mr.Bramwell. Do you have any apple product? If so, what is the product then
Hi YD. I do have an ipod. Are you an Apple consumer?
Which type of ipod? Shuffle, nano, touch? I prefer Samsung to Apple myself, but I do admit my opinions on the two are somewhat biased since Samsung is Korean and so am I. Therefore citizens of Beta, Delta, and Gamma, I propose this question to you: Is Samsung better than and Apple or Apple better than Samsung? And why?
You would not believe how many Apple products I had over the years!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, but I'm sick.
It is a first generation ipod that keeps on playing music.
Will somebody answer my question please? I'm really starting to get sad because nobody is answering it. Wahh!
Aww..... POOR THOMAS!!!!!!! I think Apple is better because, in my opinion, I have used Apple for so many years and so it is easier for me to use. I have used Samsung before but mine broke in about 1 and a half years, while my brother's first iPod ever still works now. It's the fourth generation classic iPod that he got in 2004. I still have it and it still works for about eight years now.DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION NOW,THOMAS!!!!!!
Yes Catherine Called Birdy, it does. But there is no use or the excessive use of capital letters and question marks. To anticipate and your next question, excessive means more than necessary.
Mr. Bramwell!!!!!I need your help, I can't think of a conflict that I had when I was Vietnam!!! HELP!!!!
CP, you never were Vietnam.
Mr. Bramwell, what does 'you never were Vietnam' mean? and also Catherine, why not choose a conflict that you had in America instead?
Sorry, I meant when I visited Vietnam.
Thanks Thomas, but I am writing about something completely different.
I prefer Samsung because apple has unreasonably high prices for such a small product. Also, Apple has fun apps and games and most everyone has a iphone, but Samsung has better quality in their products. Sorry Catherine, but I got to go with Thomas on this one.
Make one up then! Mr. Bramwell said that we could make it up. But I think you meant to make up some parts of a real event as you go. Right?.....?......?
So we're 2 and 1 here, with Samsung in the lead. On one side, we've got the ever famous Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S and SII, on the other the iPad and the iPhone I, II, III, IV, and IVs. Which shall it be?
@ Meghna, Okay, fine but Apple is better because its really cool.@ Thomas, Dude, did you not read what I wrote, I am doing a different story!
Apple's one major flaw is that they release all their products in white. White is a color that gets easily stained and dirty.
Catherine, no need for slang. Dude? Come on, just plain ol' Thomas will be fine. Meghna, your comment convinced me to support Samsung,if I wasn't already.
Why won't anyone take up a HTC phone or tablet! First, their tablets are cheaper than even Samsung. Second, it has Android software, which uses the Market as an app option and has a lot for free apps than The App Store.
I got third yesterday for regional. I get to play a little longer on the computer. :)
BD, Good job on the ice skating finish.
Why won't anyone answer my question?
Mr. Bramwell you said no incorrect gammer or spelling and your name is MrBramwell, meaning there no period after the Mr.
BD, good job editing. Now turn your eye to your own writing ( Mr. "there no period").
Now, Brandon, not everybody knows what HTC is. And by the way, HTC's phones may have great hardware and might have the Honeycomb, but their phones come out relatively bulkish and a shade too thick for my liking. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy SII has a nice, sleek feel with a carbon fiber covering built into the back. It may only use Gingerbread, but for portability and hardware (not software) this is the best.
Go Mr. B!Brandon, what is your question?
The question about the HTC phones.
Brandon,HTC are horrible, my cousin-in-law has one and he hates it. The Tablet is kinda like an iPad, but I don't like how it works.
I have a question? Why are so many people morneing over Steve Job's death, when there are hundreds of toddlers dieing in Africa because of starvation everyday?
Mourning.
I like there phones, especially the 4G Evo.
Dying and no need for question mark in first sentence. Hard on the paper but not on the person, as a very familiar teacher once said (or still says.)
Thank you, Catherine for actually agreeing with me! The tablet is HORRIBLE and the phones are relatively bulky. And now Brandon, you have to tell us your side of the argument: why you think people should get thick, bulky HTCs instead of sleek Samsung Captivates, S, etc.
TG, that teacher sounds awesome!
The thing is, I like the four-inch by two-inch screen, it is made for people with big hands, like me. And it is tougher than Samsung's phones so it lastly longer. It is also cheaper to get accessories and replace parts on it but to prove your points about the HTC tablets, there just like the phones just bigger and more expensive.
Mr. Bramwell give himself alot of credits. :)
I missed this whole conversation about technology. ): I feel left out. Just kidding! By the way, what really is the difference between a tablet and an iPad?
The 4G Evo's okay... But the Samsung Galaxy SII and Samsung Galaxy Note totally beats the Evo!
I have heard great things about this teacher but I haven't met him myself..
An iPad IS a tablet, Katy.
Katy,An iPad is kinda like a tablet, but there are many differences. Like an iPad, has that one little button at the bottom and the tablet has tons of buttons.Buttons are cool.
Tablets include the iPad, Samsung Galaxy TAB, HTC Flyer (which doesn't deserve to be called a tablet; I just call it a big hunk of metal with a touchscreen), Blackberry Playbook, Toshiba Thrive, Motorola Xoom, Lenovo Ideapad, HP Touchpad (which was a user of HP's own exclusive WebOS, known as the only worthy competitor of Android and iOS), and etc.
Of course the buttons are different! IF they weren't, Apple would be sueing other companies for infringement of their home button! And, an iPad is not only kinda ike a tablet, it IS a tablet!
So, did Thomas get his Samsung yet? Also, are we done talking about technology?
No I did not get my Samsung yet, Bryan. Since I bought it from Canada, the local merchants are all over me saying things about why buy it there and not here and my dad has to fill out this application form to get it from FedEx because the Samsung is a frequency device, as the application puts it.
Then what else do we talk about? How Michelle Kwan executes a triple lutz?
Ever seen blades of glory. It's funny and great skating tricks.
Also, what is everyone going to bring Thursday for a stuff animal?
"Blades of Glory" is a movie so it has to be in quotes and it has to be capitalized, Brandon.Oh yeah, I did see it, it's funny!
Incoherence strikes again...
Is that the one with the two guys in weird ice skating costumes? One red and one blue? I haven't seen it, but the DVD case was standing out.
Hi. My poor tummy hurts. I'm going to my mom's work to go treat or treating. Yes, more candy for me. Now, my tummy is better. BYEBYE.
I went trick-or-treating at 7:00 PM in Fountain Valley and I got a lot of candy because no one there goes trick-or-treating. :3
Treat or treating vs. trick or treating. I guess the first is the better because it means treats or treats instead of tricks or treats.
Mr B. Why aren't you posing my comments????
So, in thanksgiving we mostly eat, right? O.O?
CP, Look at what I have to work with. Look at your spelling of posting and four question marks... and Bryan is "in" Thanksgiving with a small t. Sometimes the editor just has to say, no. Your previous post has limited time. Enjoy it while you can.
Posing or posting? And plus, if Mr. B doesn't post a comment, we all pretty much know why.
Fine,I will be more careful.
I will become more careful in the future.
Haha, oh Mr. Bramwell. You and your crazy imagination. Don't worry, I also have a crazy imagination. I hope I do well on the common assessments in CORE and math class, and my quiz for Spanish. I just got home from piano class, and I'm searching for those Arabian Peninsula maps. Thanks for all the advice you give us in class. :)- Holly Mar
HM,Thanks for your hard work.
I can't be careful now because I'm still have some laziness.
Hi. How is everybody? I've been tired because of the studying for the test on Monday. By the way, did AT&T buy T-mobile or are they still different cellphone company? Please answer. I'm having trouble sleeping because of this question. Nighty night.
I'm still have laziness, Bryan? Naomi, AT&T are still trying to buy T-Mobile because if they do, they'll become the second largest phone company. Unfortunately, Sprint and other companies are opposing this and are filing a lawsuit.
Can we share any of our own personal creativity on this blog?
Yes, Ma'am!
Dang you guys talk a lot about electronics. For the record though, IPHONE BEATS ALL PHONES. So uhh... do you guys know anyone in Delta? Or do you just know people in the magnet classes?
It's Friday on 11/11/11 and my wish for today is for me to have an exciting day. Finished all my homework so what do I do now. So BORED!!!
MS, Read. What book are you working on? Have you taken any AR tests?Incidentally, Outsiders novels are in. If you want to own one, bring $8.60. Get 'em while they last.
I've all ready read the Outsiders so i can read it again... but I want to rad some mystery adventure books. Any suggestions?
Yes, you'll need to read "The Outsiders" with the class. We want to think about the book not just read it, and I don't mean think about whether or not you liked it.Try www.infosoup.org for book suggestions. Click on "Classic Books for Teens."By the way see writing errors e.g., already and all right. These words were part of last week's lesson.
Mr. Bramwell, Is reading books all you do for "fun"?
Mr. Bramwell, How do you make the faces in the chat?
No BD; sometimes I do laundry.
I got really confused with your answer. Was BD a face or my name or both? Also, I meant the yellow happy, like the ones in the beginning. Last, how is doing laundry "fun"?
Mr. Bramwell I just started looking at this blog and I was reading all the comments people put... its funny looking at the comments. For our response to literature this week I was wondering if we can change the intro a little. On the Beta intro microsoft has alot of fragment revising. Some of the sentences don't make sence.
Hi PT. There are no sentence fragments in that introduction. The errors may be formatting issues between this platform and your word processor. You may have to rewrite the paragraph rather than cutting and pasting. I want the intro's the same, so we can compare papers on Monday, 11/28.
Bryan Dang, to put faces you have to construct the face and when it is submitted and accepted by Mr. Bramwell, it turn in a yellow smiley. Example: For a yellow smiley you put : )(without the space)
Wait, so we can't write an intro?I really got into writing a hook. Can I write two papers? One with your intro, and one with mine.
"Can I write two papers?" Nobody asks that... Don't write two papers. Finish the classroom model and bring in your awesome hook so we can hear it.
Ughh i can't do homework with my bird screeching! It is new to our family and is still getting used to us and he is SO loud! I need to duct tape his beak shut.... hmmm.... i do have lots of duct tape.
Hi KN. Welcome to our blog. For homework help please use my school email: tbramwell@tustin.k12.ca.us. I can respond more easily to you from that address and the blog is preserved for ideas other than school work. For the "Highwayman" homework, you may do either or both. I'm looking for "meaningful" sentences that include context clues or sentences that explain the word.
In the news a couple of years back a substitute teacher duct taped the mouth of a student and taped him to his seat. I wonder if your bird and the student had anything in common. :)
The teacher I had in fifth grade told us that a boy's mom asked her to put super glue on her kids chair. The boy always moved, he couldn't stay still. When the boy sat down, and later tried to stand up, he stood up with the whole chair. They had to pull the boys pants of the chair, and they came off all torn and messed up. After that he stayed still.
Would anyone care to read a passage from one of my stories?
Well, I have decided to post my exhibit regardless of your opinions, whatever they be.I watched as my little bird flew off in the race…and knew in my heart she would be back; my small white parakeet could make it.The thousands of well-trained flyers shot around the course as if that was what their feathered lives depended on.I turned to my rustic, well-built friend Drew. He looked at me, his pale blue eyes burning a whole through my sole as he stared into my soapy hazel eyes.I felt warm water accumulate slowly atop my lower eyelid as I heard the screech of the fighter birds attacking he others, struggling to get in the lead.
I love Big Time Rush. I don't care if anyone else hates it."We're halfway there, we're looking good nowNothing's gonna get in the wayWe're halfway there and looking back nowI'd never thought that I'd ever sayWe're halfway there, we're halfway thereIf you never flew, we would never fallIf the world was ours, we would have it allBut the life we live isn't so simplisticYou just don't get what you want..."-"Halfway There" by Big Time RushI just wanted to post this. I hope anyone who reads this will be inspired/encouraged to do what their dreams want them to do!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Mr. Bram Bram, I found more about my family now its kind of less confusing. I'll tell you about it on Monday. I already told Katy about it. How was your Thanksgiving everybody? I got sick, but the food was yummy. Bye Bye. COTTON COTTON CANDY!
Happy Late Thnaksgiving Thomas and others. Tell me, what did you think of my passage?
While I read the comments I couldn't help but notice the times. Why can't some people go to bed at a decent hour?
Morgan, I think it is because the time is set at an Eastern time zone time. At least that's what Mr. Seim said last year.
I told my brother to comment on your other blog. I hope he does it soon.
Wow,a lot of people started to post comments. Hey, Mr. B, I have a question. You know on Yahoo, how it has like certain things that are going on. Well, when I was going through them, I saw that one of the important news are that President Obama got new shoes. Why are people so interested on what shoes that he has? I understand that he is the president, but why can't they just leave them alone. I guess its the paparazzi's job, but seriously it's just new shoes. I don't get this.
Catherine, look at it this way. Would you like to be popular for new shoes? I wouldn't. Which is why I let the president get all the glory for getting new shoes.
Thomas doesn't like being popular, and Morgan it's because we like watching the "late at night" T.V shows. P.S. I think Mr.Bramwell is going to say I should spell out T.V. :D
Actually Thomas, I would love to be popular for new shoes. Oh and just to see, I wrote this at 1:11 am,lets see what time it will say.
Hi everyone. Do you think I read too much? My family does. Well bye. Have to study. COTTON COTTON CANDY!
Two hours ahead means Central Time meaning the states North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the states below these three.
Speaking about new shoes, the Nike Lunarglide 3s are beautiful. Lunarlon Technology is what makes it famous: the soft but firm cushioning and it's light weight.
I noticed that last year, primarily females blogged on the site. What about now? Do I make up the other 40 or so boys that DON'T BLOG? (Ahem. Cough cough.)
What can we write, their is no conversation to comment on.
Yes, Thomas, it is and always has been primarily females. You do not however make up for the lost causes of most of the magnet males.Catherine, I think it may be referring to the time that which Mr. Bramwell decides to post our comments. To test your theory once more, I am typing this at 5:01 PM.To all: Why has no one commented about the passage I posted? Was it really that awful?I must be a pretty bad writer, huh? I too bad to even be reviewed.
Are you calling me female Thomas, and are you just talking about the boys in Gamma? O.o Also, yes Naomi you read too much, and when you don't I think you might be eating because you keep typing about cotton candy.
"Oh my..." [old expression] The bloggers seem a bit sensitive this week.
No, we are just like that. Why are you up this late Mr. Bramwell? I up because in the afternoon I ice skate and I do my homework at night.
How do you catch footballs after they slam into your belly, and just before that there was a "random Brandon."P.S. Only Brandon and Thomas can tell you what I mean by a "random Brandon." :)
Question: Can we post pictures on this site like Yu-Gi-Oh?I'm getting back into the game, and I will destroy all my friend in the game. Mhahahhahahahhahahhahah. Now going back to homework.
Bryan, we understand you can beat almost everybody at chess. Now its Yu-Gi-Oh? O_o
Mr. Bramwell like Bryan, I would also like to know if we could post pictures or videos on this site. Please reply~
No pictures, no videos. There are one or two other sites for that. Language is good though.
Bryan, Yu-Gi-Oh was only famous when we were third graders. Now its just way too old..
No, Kylee. Your writing was so amazing that we FORGOT to comment on it. (Although Mr. Bramwell should'nt have forgotten). Bryan, you posted, like, a million times. (Note me spelling out that number and also the nice use of hyperbole. You're an eager beaver when blogging, aren't you? (Note the very smooth use of an idiom).
Haha Bryan, that was funny! :)! Hey Mr. Bramwell, did you know that whatever sport you play with a ball, just tell Brian to run the ball all the way to the end zone, goal, etc and he'll do it! It's amazing the way Bryan just runs past everybody. By the time he's at the scoring place, the opposing team just got ready tp chase after him. (And since I said "hey," don't say hay is for horses, please.)
My theory is correct! Yippee! But it's 2 hours and a few minutes ahead. I was off by a few minutes! :(. But to prove that I'm right, I posted this comment at 8:47.
I was wondering about the stereotype joke you said to Katy. (It was hilarious. I replayed it before going to sleep and I laughed so hard that I cried and I couldn't sleep.) Oops, run-on sentence. Asians don't drive well, true. But the worst driving country actually should go to China! Although, my dad should be getting that award sometime soo. that last time he drove me to San Bernadino, he was angry and the little hand on the speedometer never dipped below 83.
Mr. Bramwell, don't you think it's weird that the office called you to tell me to pick up my birthday pizza, even though my mom told them that I didn't need any notification because I had arranged this with my mom a few days ago? I have arrived at a conclusion that states: The office must think I have some kind of notorious reputation of forgetting things. But at least I don't forget to print enough copies of a certain tes. Ahem.
Thomas, I believe it is two hours and five minutes. Why is it that you reply to my comment on you not replying on my excerpt, yet still fail to comment on it?Mr. Bramwell, I agree with Thomas. How is it that you reply to everyone else, but when I post a perfectly good excerpt from my novella you ignore it?Thomas, you made multiple spelling errors on a few of your latest posts. I would review your spelling packets from third grade if I were you.Bryan, you post lot about nonsense. I even am respectably mature on this blog rather than discussing my liking for a certain fish.Everyone, did you know that I am almost always writing? I always have my notebook and pencil for writing poetry when away from my computer. When at my computer I am constantly writing. If yo would like to hear a piece of my literature just ask. Please ask.Furthermore, is anyone going to comment on my literary masterpiece posted so long ago? Maybe I should just post something else that may intrigue you more than the previous.
Does anyone else feel the need to have a button for italics?
Thomas, I find it absolutely adorable that you were thinking of Katy before you fell asleep. Brandon, there are many things to comment on. All you have to do is read.Naomi, Bryan has no idea what he is saying. You can never read too much. That would be like saying that I write too much. I mean, I only wake up early every morning to write. Then I write poems all day during school at breaks and such. Finally, I stay up late writing and reading. I definitely don't write too much, so how could you read too much?Mr. Bramwell, who has posted the most on your blog? I do not mean by actual posts, because then Bryan Dang might be eligible, but I mean by the actual word count. Do you know?
I forgot to eat dinner last night so, I'm eating it right now.P.S It's rice and shrimp!
Is anyone having trouble writing about Outsiders Question number three? Its a little difficult to write about since I do not know much about cliques except what we have talked about in class. (Off Topic) I have that pen in the background! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Also, Kylee, Thomas, and Bryan you guys blog so much! I came home today and checked if my previous blog was approved and I looked and saw that it was not there. Until I scrolled up a bit had I seen that it was lifted by your blogging. I will start blogging more often.
Bryan, why must you talk about rice with various seafood?I wrote another excerpt for everyone. Here it is: Hopelessly I trek along the ever-winding dirt road. How did it come to this? I trace. She wouldn’t want me to be here. I wince. Why do I keep thinking of her? I selfishly keep thinking of her when I should be working to get there. Nobody would believe this story. I know, I will write it down.I have more to share, just did not want to bore you with an expansive post.
Kylee, you have some spelling errors, too. Second, I was not (where in the world is the bold and italicize or underline button when I need it?) thinking about Katy, I was reviewing the school day in my head. Sheesh. It's a habit I developed last year. Bryan, how do you FORGET to eat dinner? It's either you eat it or you don't. Good luck in your ice skating competition. I dare you to do a 1080.
I'm at a Vivaldi concert. Ssshhhh!
I love Vivaldi as a composer, Brandon. The man knew how to rock the violin!
I had my second day at the hotel, doing homework. Thomas, if I try to do a 1080, I might fall and break something.
Bryan doing a 1080 is impressive! I would like to see you do that. Also why are you up so early? I am still tired.
You can do it Bryan!Just don't try to fall down or break something. :)
Hi. I just finished my homework. Mr. Bramwell, Nicole, Jan, Kana, Kieth, Bryan, and Caylee say hi. Bryan do a 1080 please. I need a new two new books to read. One of them is How to Kill a Mockingbird and I need one more. All I could find is Greek/Roman mythology. Any suggestions? Thanks. COTTON COTTON CANDY!
Thomas, do enlighten me on my spelling errors please. I have spell-check automatically reversing my spelling, so I should not have any.Andrew, are you not always tired?
How about we all just talk about one topic...It would be less confusing..
...but not as interesting.
William. I got the blog into technology. But as always, a blog must not be limited to one topic. And also, why didn't you put your last name? Last time you did. :)
Thomas and Mr. Bramwell, may I ask, have you seen my poetry yet?
Yes.
What poetry?
Now I put my last name...Happy now Thomas..:]
Hi. The blog wouldn't be as interesting if we just stick to one topic. It would still be interesting. COTTON COTTON CANDY!
I'm reading Pendragon: The Never War.P.S. I'm camping in front of my computer.
Why does this blog slow down in comments over break and weekends?
"The Nutcraker" ballet is pretty good, but the music was great. My dad was able to get second row seats for free because my dad and I know this person who plays an instrument in the orcheshra for the ballet.
Would you, BK, and others, like to be a professional musician?
I would not want to be a professional musician and make music for money, but I would like to play in orchestras for fun. The reason for a refusal on an offer to be a professional musician is that the music industry is very critical about the new tend. If my music is out of tend and I can not afford or make a different song to maintain cash flow. Then, my life is ruined with hardly anything to backup a new career.
What's a tend? Which movement of the Nutcracker Suite did you like the best? The march in the characteristic dances?
Mr. Bramwell, I would definitely like to be a professional musician. It is a dream I had as a little kid, but I think it an irrational career path. I would much rather be a writer of anything really.
Nope, music is hard to play but, Thomas is great at the violin. Also, the comments slow down because it's is break and we like to use it wisely.
I have seen so many different versions of The Nutcracker. It gets really boring after a while. My brother is a ballet dancer and so we always go to his show or someone else show. When I was a little kid, I thought of becoming a professional musician but like all dreams I had when I was a little kid, it went away, I guess, I grew out of them. Here is a new topic to talk about. Your dreams, what do you want to be when you grow up? What are your dreams for the future?
TG, a rend is a type of fashion or style people like for a short period of time. When you mean movement do you mean act or song? And my favorite march was the Russian march because it was very energetic, it was the only thing in act two that wasn't slow and boring. I liked act one better than act two because act one had a story line while act two was just a long dream and had nothing to do with the story.
Bryan, thank you for calling me great! Harrison is a lot better than I am though. I could be a lot better if I practiced, my mom says. Oh well.
Catherine, I think that's a perfect topic. I have a very solid path ahead of me. I plan on going through high school doing well through all me AP classes. Then, going to Harvard, Yale, or Princeton where I will major in medical science then sud-major in English. After college I will attend medical school. After which, I will become a doctor, and when I retire an author. On another topic, I also have grown out of my old dreams. Until last year, I had always insisted upon being a teacher when I grew up. I will not point fingers, but I will tell that it was a certain teacher that made me give up this dream.
Thomas, you are amazing at the violin. To be honest, I have even made bets with some eighth graders that you would be first chair and I won! Thank you for the...advance on my allowance shall we say? I encourage you to surpass him once more. Please?
Kylee, I agree to your terms. But if you are my unofficial agent, I get 15 percent of all your earnings. Also, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!
I want to know one thing about everyone. Do you guys or girls have brother and sisters?
Nope. Only child.
Did all of the boys and girls get the gift they wanted?
Does it get boring talking to the same people on the blog?
No. But that's okay because I got sixty dollars, a book called The Commander, a book on time travel and space warp theories, and a Peanuts calendar!
I want to be an aeronautical engineer when I grow up. But my mom wants me to have some kind of musical bacckground and to continue when I grow up. Which is why everytime I say I want to quit, I have to listen to the same tirade over and over... I would definitely think about being a lawyer or an editor, though. Too bad it doesn't snow here. I would've thrown snowballs at my friends.
Almost 2012, has anyone watched the movie?
Superstitions these days, tsk. The end of the world is not nigh unto us. The end of the world won't happen this year, I assure you who believe in that superstition.
How can you say it won't happen? There might be a random climate change around the world.
There already is a rapid climate change around the world. It's been changing in some parts of the world from a lot of years ago to just a few years ago. And look! I'm still standing on a solid ground!(Not that you could see me right now.) No meteor attacks or huge, massive tsunamis (bigger than the one that occured in Japan) and I'm still alive. I bet you ten dollars the end of the world is not this year.
Does anyone have any special plans for the three-day weekend (besides homework and projects)?
Helle and cheerio.
Ok...If anyone believes that 2012 is the end of the world then might as well give me everything you own.Since the world is ending you won't be needing it right?
Since this post will be posted after the field trip, what was fun at the field trip for you guys or girls.
Ha. Ha. Very funny Choi.Besides Taylor, Lauren, Katie, Fiona, Camille, Andrew, Brandon, Ogi, Ryan, Yash, and Damian, what is everyone doing for three day weekend?
Wow. Nobody is blogging a lot lately. To answer your question, Kylee, I had a soccer tournament in Lancaster on Saturday and Sunday. Ugh, it was tiring. I'm so sore....
Hey Kylee I got about six hours of surfing ths three day weekend. Science fair was amasing and congrats to the people who placed.(Katy 1st place,Thomas 2nd) Who got third?
Hey Mr. bramwell. Monday is my birthday but I will be in a cast and crutches. :(
Lauren, What happened? I will be recruiting Monday but will catch up with you on Tuesday. Happy Birthday Hop-along.Thank you Thomas.
Why is it that only magnet kids comment???
That is a good question. What do you think?
Mr. Bramwell, did you like or dislike homework when you were in middle school?
Hi TDR. I was wired for play when I was your age. It was hard for me to get excited about homework. I did it because I had to. My parents weren't the type to stand for poor grades. In retrospect, it may be the habits of school e.g., hard work, discipline, perseverence, concentration, and more that have proved most valuable over time.
Hey Mr. Bramwell! I'm taking a break from studying for the writing test tomorrow. My fairly old laptop got fixed this past weekend! It was a Windows laptop, but it crashed a few times and Edward helped install a free operating system called Ubuntu on it before he went back to college during late January. It's by Linux.I'm going to make Edward pick me up after school and visit you, Ms. Azimioara, Mrs. Henry, Mrs. Hastings, and possibly Mr. Seim. He happens to have a very good memory and remember most of his middle school teachers.Besides talking about my laptop and my brother, why do we always have to integrate technology and things like that into our conversations? I think it's kind of weird.Apparently I have a lot to say today. I shall continue with my rant.I should really show you my graphic tablet and how it works. It's really neat. When you're drawing, it comes with a stylus that looks like a pen. The surface is sensitive to the stylus tip, so when you push down on the surface, the mark you're making appears on the screen. It doesn't work like a SMARTBoard pen though, where you could pick a pen up and draw on the desktop or a Word document. (Wow, that totally sounded like a run-on sentence.)Well, I think I've said more than enough. Time to go eat some dinner. Wait, I am.
That sounds like an awesome graphic tablet! (I used to mess with my dad's until I accidentally pressed the reset button...) I think one of the weaknesses of these new tablets (android, iOS, WebOS, etc.) is that you can't use a pen or stick to use instead of a finger. You have to buy a special stylus built for your device, separately. The Ubuntu program is a pretty good system but there are still some minor problems. I myself like that fake MacOS Yash uses on his Toshiba. ... YASH ARE YOU LISTENING?
Haha, that's pretty funny, Thomas. That's cool how your dad had a graphic tablet, but actually, it's completely different from the "tablet computer" kind of tablet.
Hi. My sister is watching Psych. I'm doing homework. I can't wait till the 24th of March because I'm watching Hunger Games and The 1st of May because the third book of the Kane series is coming out. I still need the 2nd book. COTTON COTTON CANDY!
Oh Naomi. I really need to read The Hunger Games.
Check out the "Link" page to view a must see NASA video that explains the moon's history.
When were we learning about the moon?
Consider it a bit of really ancient history, Bryan.
Hooly, The first book of the Hungers Games is awesome, the second is great, and the third book is confusing, but tragic. I think the Ranger's Apprentice series is better, truthfully.
Hi Kanika. How is your new home and school? Did you get your dog?
Anyone need a way to relax or are you feeling stressed out? I found this web site (is it two words or just one?) that really helps: http://www.thequietplaceproject.comThis website has three choices: the quiet place, 90 seconds relaxation excercise, and the thoughts room (I copied those right from the link, so sorry if that has wrong grammar).
Ah, okay. I'm just trying to find an interesting book that is shorter than Inheritance. I heard it's about 800 pages. I really want to read it, but I just don't feel like putting in the effort to read it.I'm still "recovering" from my week long sickness and I must do well on my Certificate of Merit test this Saturday. Last week I took my theory test (signs, terms, chords, stuff like that), and this week I have to perform my pieces for an evaluator. My sight reading (taking a new piece and playing it without studying, really) isn't very strong. I can play all four of my pieces by memory, it's just not very good.
Kanika, I disagree. The Hunger Games is the most amazing book series in the world. I am even including Harry Potter. That is how serious I am about this. Holly, I do think it's weird we are all so obsessed with technology we have to talk about it all of the time.Bryan, we learned about the moon in fifth grade. When we all studied the solar system. It was a science unit...
Kanika! Kanika! Kankika! Hi!!!! I miss you! Happy almost birthday! By the way, I agree with Kylee. The Hunger Games IS the best book series EVER! Are you going to see the movie on your birthday? My cousin's birthday's the 23rd also and he is. He lives around you, too!
That's why I'm here to CHANGE that subject, Kylee. :I
Hey, I'd love it if you guys can help me raise money for people living in third-world countries! I'm fasting for 30 hours so I can feel how it is for people living in those countries. So far I'm at $325 out of my goal of $360. It'll only take 7 donations of 5$ 'til I get to my goal. I'd say to all of you that it'll take you $30 to watch me starve for about a day and 6 hours, but I think it's cruel sounding when I put it that way.Mr. Bramwell, thanks for helping out a great cause!
Hi Mr.Bramwell. My new house is good and truthfully my new school is boring. Also, I did not get my dog yet. Kylee, I agree with you but I do not think that the third book is that good. Katie, thanks, you remembered my birthday. I did not see the movie because my mom dragged to some other formal events.
Are you going to drink water only or starve the whole time,
Pentathletes, Your work ethic and commitment to our common goal, which was lofty, has been impressive over the past 50 days. Your scholarship was exemplary, and I hope you'll be rewarded for your hard work as a team and individually.
I still remember the same words Mr. Bramwell said before super quiz," We flow in one direction like the Tiber River." Then I was like ONE DIRECTION!!! Then Mr. Bramwell," Like Meghna's favorite band, we flow in one direction like the Tiber River."
Did anyone know that one direction is the "ambassadar" of pokemon. I think that means they bought the company or something.... I think that's so cool :)
I knew that Maghna. Of course I did! I am OBSESSED with One Direction! Kylee, I agree. The Hunger Games is the BEST book series in the world! Even the movie was amazing!
Obviously I am the one to change the subject to One Direction... that's awesome. ONE DIRECTION ONE DIRECTION ONE DIRECTION!!!!!
Sorry Gamma. I had previously said that to make a dash, press dash twice and enter. This is incorrect because I had made the dash (2x) and enter (1x) my default code for the dash. ALT+CTRL+NUM produces the em-dash whereas ALT+NUM produces the en-dash. NUM is the minus key on your numerical pad of the keyboard (usually the right part of the keyboard). Also, make sure your Num lock is on or the NUM won't work.
Or, Thomas, you put just one dash and enter... that's how I do it.Or you can do it Thomas' way. :)
So... how's everybody's spring break so far. Mine is not going so good because I am overwhelmed with all these dance performances I have to do in the next few weeks. So excited for pentathlon awards!!!
Mr. Bramwell, sadly my money was wasted on "The Hunger Games" instead of a caramel sundae. The movie lacked in areas. The appearance of some of the people was strange, and pretty ridiculous. Especially the lady that pulled the name of the two tributes for the game out of the container.
Okay, it happened: I saw "The Hunger Games." I thought Katniss was played amply by Jennifer Lawrence. She did a fine job of seeming concurrently resolute and bewildered. I found the historical rationale for "the games" unconvincing, and the lottery, training, fighting, relationships, and resolution were sorely lacking all. I did like the jab at reality television viewers and felt slightly embarrassed at having paid money to watch the parody on a big screen. If you haven't seen the movie, spend your cash on a caramel sundae.
Well, I usually do not blog unless the matter is important and now THIS IS IMPORTANT! The Hunger Games was by far one of the best movies ever made. If you read the books, which I know Dani has not, you would understand every part of the movie. The make up artists did an outstanding job in making the images of the people in the books come to life. This story takes place in a futuristic dystopia, the residents of the capital are supposed to look crazy. If you have not seen the movie, forget about the caramel sundae and WATCH IT!
"Futuristic dystopia" - love it! I'll have mine with whip cream and a cherry please.
Correct Reem, I have not read the books. However, I understood that the people were suppose to look like that, I just think they looked ridiculous. The caramel sundae would have been better.
Ugghh. Now I really don't know what to do. I want to see the Hunger Games but so many people says it's horrible and some say it's better than Harry Potter. I know it's probably not as good as Harry Potter because it's HARRY POTTER. I've read the Hunger Games series. Though, nothing can top that Harry Potter. Hunger Games, see you at the dollar movies. :)
Good idea MS. Any movie is worth a dollar just to see it on the big screen.
I've noticed that the books are always better than the movies. Why so? Why can the movie producers make the movie exactly like the book? These comments above just proved that The Hunger Games movie is worse than the book. And that leads back to my question, why are books better than the movies?
Mr. Bramwell, I'm wondering how my comment about the Hunger Games is above yours, when you posted you comment before me.
DL, I made a couple of writing errors that were corrected. This platform sees the changes as a new entry.
Hunger Games, Hunger Games, oh wait a new subj- no it's only One Direction... Seems to me that the only things on this blog are Hunger Games and One Way (or is it 'direction'?). Talk about something else, like the iPad 3 (even thought it's old news) or even North Korea launching a satellite rocket (total FAILURE by them: it broke within two minutes of the flight, I think). Talk about anything BUT One Direction (or is it 'way'?).
What's a caramel sundae? Is is like a banana split? Incidentally, what is a banana split? Sighh... there's so much to learn...but that's fun! What's a sundae? WHY is it called sundae?
When I grow up and obtain money, I will buy "Pokemon" from One Direction because Pokemon too awesome for them and they are a band and Pokemon is a game.
Really? One Direction? I rather listen to Big Time Rush. All of y'all would think BTR is stupid, but deal with it. You'll never change my opinion. Can we at least talk about something other than technology, The Hunger Games, and One Direction? Please?
Yup, I am just chillin with Michaela on skype at 10:53 on a Saturday night. We are so cool. You must wonder what we're talking about. *one direction*
Well, let's talk about BTR on tour with One Direction. They opened for them on their last North American tour. BTR is too childish. One Direction is amazayn, fabulouis, phenominiall, extradinharry, and brilliam. One Direction is 1Derful.
BTR=Big Time Rush? What does it mean that 'they opened for them on their last American tour?' By the way, One Way is not wonderful. In my opinion, Bryan's Pokemon theme song singing can beat them anyday. Huh, Bryan? Right? This is because Pokemon is a lot better than Two Directions.
Well, let's talk about how 1D did a commercial for Pokemon. They also made a "song" about pokemon too. How's about that THOMAS? :)
Haha Thomas, you're right nothing beats Bryan's singing. I'm confused who opened for who on who's American tour?
Bryan should be in one direction. He would be an awesome backup singer for their pokemon song. I would go to their concerts everytime they had one in the USA.
Enough One Direction! There are other things happening in the wolrd but nowadays people only seem to be focousing on entertainment. Civilians are dying from starvation in Africa, innocent children are being shot to death in the middle east, and earthquakes are shaking all of the southern asian islands but people don't seem to care. I think it is time for everyone to take off their headphones and listen to the cries of all the less fortunate people in the world.
Our carrer in the future is to build a preschool in Korea. Well, people have been asking if it will be in South or North Korea, and oviously it will be in South Korea. We would not put little kids in danger of the harsh goverment. We have already made the blueprints in case you were wondering. The principal will be Katy Oh, the architect will be Ryan Demelt, and Sean Garcia all ready offered to be the janitor. The mascot will be a dragon. No one thinks it will happen and they don't believe we will succeed but we will. Mr. Bramwell in fifteen years you and whoever doubted us are invited to our preschool.
That last comment was by both of us
Hey, coming form the school library, saying what's up? Sean would totally be the janitor. Me and Meghna would be the teachers, because we are cool like that!!
Why not North Korea? There are many education-deprived places there. Therefore, the choice of South Korea is not obvious. And what do you mean "little kids in danger of a harsh government"? If you are deciding to help someone then you shouldn't show fear in doing so. Either do it or don't. That's what I think, anyway.
"Matherine"- Reem and I have to talk this through before we accept your offer.Thomas- We have not thought about that. We decided on South Korea without even thinking of North Korea. You are right that there are some places there lacking education. Besides, we are so far away from a big dream that will change over time. There will be many ideas that will come and go for this preschool.
This feels like Facebook everybody posting their thoughts, but with correct grammar.... I wish there was a like button.
Sorry guys, we already have enough teachers. We will notify you when there are open spaces. We still need lunch ladies though! Thomas, I didn't write that part, I only wrote the last sentence so you will have to ask paige about that.
First of all, Reem you wrote that part with me and i realize it doesnt make sense. I dont even think I know what we wrote. If you want to be a teacher you can be a substitute teacher.
You said that you didn't even think about putting the preschool in North Korea but in your previous comment (the one that starts with "Our career in the future..") stated, "Well, people have been asking if it will be in South or North Korea, and obviously it will be in South Korea." So therefore you DID think about putting the school in North Korea, however briefly.
Grist for the mill... Why, today, would it be nearly impossible to have U. S. citizens running a preschool in North Korea? Could you live happily in such an environment? Is change inevitable for N. Korea or unlikely? What type of change would you like to see?
Since there is no like button, I will submit a thumbs up(like)to Mr.Bramwells post.
I object! Paige, I did not write that with you. Thomas, I do not understand anything you just wrote. NO, we did not ever consider placing the school in North Korea. You, were never our my brains, therfore you do not know if we considered it or not.
Paige,I refuse to be a lunch lady. It's not my thing, just saying.Mr. Bramwell, I'm sure if we moved to North Korea, it would be difficult and everything that we do everyday would change, but isn't change always better? How would it not be possible? Its's like saying would it be hard for a Korean citizen to come over to the United States and start to run a preschool.
Mr. Bramwell, what does grist for the mill mean?
CP, Being adaptable is indeed an important skill. However, change isn't always for the better. Can you think of some examples? It would be amazing if you girls could open a school in N. Korea; the whole world would take notice. This is because the modern government in N. Korea is described by outsiders as a "totalitarian dictatorship" and highly reclusive. Many of the rights and freedoms that you take for granted, thanks to the "republic" that is America, are not available to N. Korean citizens. For more information on the Koreas check out this link: www.cotf.edu/ete/modules/korea/koreatoday.html
Ah, DL, to my delight, you have taken the bait. I will tell you that it is a metaphor and wait for you to tell me what it means.
I figured out what it means. Grist for the mill means everything can be used to your advantage.
Cathrine it was not my idea for you to be the lunch lady! Mr. Bramwell, you are right that if we opened a school in North Korea then it would reflect the the world, but you never know in fifteen years North Korea m,ight be fine.
I guess change wouldn't be better if you lose a high paying job and would have to start at the bottom again. But then again, maybe you can start over and work at a job you like or something. Everyone always sees it a different way.
I have just one question... Why Korea (North and South). Yes, there are many places in North and South Korea that need help in education wise, but Korea is number 1 ranked in the whole world for education. Let's say India for example, not to be bias, but there are many places there that at least need a proper home there. We should look for those kids first. My sister and I always dreamed of becoming doctors and go around India helping kids who are dying of hunger, diseases, and many more. I think we should all save the children, then give them the education they need.
Hi everyone! I think we should do something fun with all the magnet kids at CT. I'm not sure why but i think it would just be something fun to do.
Hey Mr. Bramwell, I hope you are liking your 2013 seventh grade class? I bet we're so lovable! Well, I just wanted to say hi...so hi. You should read the book, The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. It's very, very geeky and timey-wimey. It also has ALIENS! I took the AR test and got 100%. Thanks, have a good life!
ST, You're in the 11-12 class, and all kids are lovable! Even when kids are cantankerous, if they later take responsibility for their ways, they become even more lovable. So, the book panned out? I'd like to read it. You have a good life too!
Okay! Let's change the subject! Enough about the school! Who's excited for Catalina? Just six days left!
Yeah Mr. Bramwell, the book was great! It was a little confusing at first, but it turned out to be fantastic! I bet you will love it. I can lend you the book if you want?
I cannot wait to go! My brother keeps telling me how fun it is and the eight graders keep saying it too. I wish we can go now!
AAAHHHH CATALINA IS SOOOO CLOSE!!!! SO EXCITED!!!*screaming because I have five days of sister freeness*
I am super psyched for Catalina! Meghna, i knoow exactly what you mean, sister freeness finally! The One Direction video is going to be amazing. *four more days*
Meghna, I know what you mean. It's like a science paradise for us siblings...whether it is older or younger!
Meghna, you may have one sister, but I have TWO older brothers, who constantly punch me in the shoulder. I cannot wait to be away from them! To bad we can't listen to One Direction when we are there.
THe cabins and fireld groups are amazing! Guys, I know what you mean about the sibling freeness. I have a 6 year old brother and he is SUPER annoying! Can't wait!
Mr. Bramwell, I figured out number 29 on the MENSA questionnaire.I got 29 of them figured out. I cannot figure out 14, 19, and 31.
FIVE DAYS WITHOUT INTERNET!!!! WHAT!! Well,, i'll just be paralyzed by the beauty that Catalina gives... I'm so excited... 10 hours to go.
Does anyone have a good riddle? Also, how was the trip?
I have noticed a Big Time Rush pun in Meghna's last comment. "Paralyzed" is actually one of their songs. Haha. Puns are great.I don't feel like ranting today. Oh well. I'll see you tomorrow morning with my career card problem, Mr. Bramwell.
Congratulations to the Kings! A 44-45 year conquest for a Stanley Cup win has come to a temporary end! Also, Mr. Bramwell, I noticed that you wrote "No late start!" on your calendar next to Thursday. Hmmm.....
Thank you, Thomas.
I will miss everybody during the summer vacation (you to Mr. Bramwell)!!!! I will miss all the fun times we had as a class and the annoying times too!!!! Have a great summer everybody!!!!!
Hi Mr. Bramwell. How are you? Right now, I'm in India. :)
Hi K. Wow, India! What will you be seeing/doing there? I'm doing well; thanks for asking. At the moment, I'm sitting in a computer class. I'm learning about software products like Haiku and Quizdom. What else is going of for you? What has been on your mind?
Hi. My family attened my grandfather's Retirement Party. I got a chance to meet most of my relatives on my mother's side, and there were so many that I couldn't remember many of their names. We visited the city Haridwar and Rishiskesh to see the two bridges called Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula that were made over the River Jumna. We also saw a couple of forts. Other than that we stayed inside an air conditioned room because of the humidity.
Hi KG. Sounds like a good family trip... I saw a good movie this week that was set in India ("Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"). Hey, nowthat you're a big bad 8th grader post future comments on the "Blog for Students Past."
Do we have to write in "Blog for Students Past"?
Yay! I'm the first person in my class to find your website. I just thought that if Mr. Seim had a blog and a website you might have one too.
Yes, Bryan. You are student past. Hi Sona. Way to find it.
My identity is hidden. My name tells you that. You may try to figure out who I am, well good luck at that. There are some things that are worth sharing. There are many things that are not. But if you read all my future posts carefully, about me you'll learn a lot.
Remember, your post must be error free to find the bright light of our marquee.
You must figure out what the clue was in my first post before I post the next clue as to who I am. The clue could be anything- a phrase, my name, a spelling, word patterns, etc.
Misstery person you were on Mr. Seim's website too. I was reading this book the other day and the protaginist in this novel simply is facinated by words! In the book she starts debating on whether she should believe her new foster parents and the new people in her surroundings or not. During that time she mentions that the word "believe" has the word "lie" in it. That just got me thinking.I know it's random but I thought I ought to share.
I am second! I did know you had a blog site though Mr. Bramwell.
Honestly, I didn't know until last week that this was here.Misstery, is there a reason you spell your name with two s's??
Yes, Sona. That is clue #1. Think, Misstery. Hmm?
You are female, "miss"
Correct. The ongoing clues are on Mr. Seim's blog so if you want to figure out my identity look on the poet's blog. :)
Are we allowed to ask questions about your identity, like if you still go to CT?
Cool blog! I came here before school started, but I didn't realize there was a blog until today. Mr. Bramwell, when is your birthday?
Just curious... If you had an unlimited supply of anything in the world, what would it be? I would probsly want books or wisdom or gum!!
Tomorrow JC; 50 years young. EC, I would choose love, acceptance, wisdom, belief, friends, and inspiration.
Please learn my name, soon!
Then my mom's twelve days older than you. She just turned 50 on the 9th.
I would want an unlimited supply the ability to gain knowledge ( I never want to stop learning!!), love, confidence, and happiness!!
Only Sona will understand this one really. Sona...UNLIMITED SRK!!!!
Hello everyone.
Toward Emily. *eyeroll*Hi Sofia!

Life is about creating yourself" - George Bernard Shaw
Ummmm........ I was reading the first post on here by Marissa and that is not the FUN song. It's "F" is for friends who do stuff together "U" is for you and me"N" is for anywhere and anytime at all Down here in the deep blue seaPlankton version- "F" is for fire that burns down the whole town"U" is for URANIUM...BOMBS!"N" is for no survivers down here in the- Ending together- "F" is for frolic through all the flowers"U" is for ukulele "N" is for nose picking, chewing gum, and sand lickingDown here in the deep blue sea
Come on Mr.Bramwell, this year's volleyball team needs you:( Our coach last year wasn't very good at all. Teia and I did more in two hours of club volleyball tryouts, then we did the whole time in our school teams. That is saying a lot! Help us. It's the last quarter(I think).
Mr. Bramwell, I have an idea for the poems. You could have a box at the back of the room, and people can turn in their poems there. Then, once a day, you shuffle the papers and choose a random poem and that is the poem of the day.Just an idea.
Hi J. That is a great idea, but I like the idea of people reading as the muse strikes them. I think once we get past the attention of it, we'll be able to focus more on the art.
Hi! I decided to write a poem, it doesn't rhyme the whole time. So yeah.Have you ever looked in the mirror?Have you ever seen your reflection and said- I'm my own personNo one can truly judge meI know who I amNo one can argue with thatBehind me there is no puppet masterTo keep me from disasterI may be smallI may fallBut I can always get up once againAt times, we are not niceAnd it surely comes at a priceKnow during life's hard momentsYou choose your outlookThat outlook is BRIGHTMake a choice that shines your light
There is only one "person" who can judge me. I changed my idea.
By the way, why do we add our email? Do we get to post from our email account?
EM. For me, your poem is both deep and hopeful. Well done. Volleyball is unlikely do to a busy schedule, but I'm open to working with a small group from time to time.
RS, The email requirement helps to promote responsible blogging.
Thanks Mr.Bramwell! Sometimes, when I'm sad I like writing my feelings to help myself and others feel a little better.
EM, Art may be a creative and healthy method for wrapping your mind and heart around whatever you might be feeling or pondering. I've noticed too that many are creative during these important periods of introspection.
Rajan, the email is not required. I didn't write my email this time, but if you write your email and click the 'Notify me when new comments are added' then it emails you if new comments are added.
I havea quote that really gets some people minds thinking. "If you want to know what God thinks of money, look at the people he gives it to."
This year we should continue Mr.Seim's legacy and do monthly WoWs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EM. That sounds great. Tell me what a "monthly wow" is.
Well, every week Mr.Seim had us do a WoW( writing of week), but since there isn't as much time as there was last year, we could do it once a month. A WoW is a one or two paragraph piece of writing about what ever quote Mr.Seim had chosen. One WoW we did was," To err is human; to blame it on the other guy is even more human." Another cool thing we could do is "what day is it?"1. When we are in the classroom someone asks you" what day is it?"2. You answer" it's Monday- Friday" depending on what day it is3. Then we would respond to you with a saying like" seize the day"
Greetings..... Mr.Bramwell, what do you get at Flame Broiler? I go A LOT and always get the beef veggie bowl( white rice, no green onions.)
Mr. Bramwell can we please do WoWs! Please! Pretty please! I love that poem Ellie. It's an inspiration, a ray of hope for readers feeling unimportant or in way put down. I really admire your writing Ellie!Writing isn't easy for me, nor is social studies or language arts.I'm a science, math type of person. For me language arts is complicated and full of a variety of answers. I'm constantly scared of being wrong. Math is straight foward, for everything has only one answer and that answer can never change. Science simply fasinates me. It shows how big and small we truly are compared to everything else in this universe. Social studies is intresting as well, but lets just say I don't have the best memeory..
I've been thinking about the quote you mentioned Emily and I think people with great amounts of money usually( key word is usually) earn through tedious work. Of course, I may be wrong. Money isn't nessecarly given to bad people (If that is what the quote means).
E&S. I think the WoWs are a good idea, but doo you think "Story Corps" fills this need? If not, let's try a WaM! (Writing a Month). E, I tried chicken and vege's. It was okay. S, LA, like life, is "complicated and full of variety." You are doing splendidly and need only do your best besides.
I never looked at language arts that way but I suppose you're right. I truly do love social studies but I do need to build my memorization skills. I love the fact that one can never learn everything. There is always more knowledge to be attained. Always. WaM! WaM sounds cool! I enjoy WoW's, WaM whatever it's called because it helps me improve my writing tremendously and learn how to intrepet different quotes(or concepts) from different points of views. "Story Corps" does in a way fill this need, but I still yearn for a "WaM!". What do you all think of the quote "Don't take life seriously. You'll never escape it alive."?I agree, frame broiler is okay. I don't usually get beef though. I usually get chicken and add hot sause. I love spicy! I
It does not necessarily fill my need. We wouldn't do it in class, it would be homework. I had fun writing them, and It helped me become a better writer. Can we do " what day is it?"
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT WOWS!!!!!!!!! They were the only part of Mr. Seim's class that I didn't like. I think Story Corps fills the need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never been to Flame Broiler. Why did this stop sending me comment nofications??? Anyways, I love writing, but can we do more narrative stuff this year? Last year we just did one big narrative. I like writing when it's a narrative, preferably on a topic I choose.
My sister loves Flame Broiler. It's ok, but there are so many better places to eat.
I don't want to sound greedy or anything, but last year our teachers would write down our homework for the week on the board(and then since we knew what the homework is, if we are busy a certain night we could do the homework in advance).
Narratives are fun. There's usually more freedom when sriting a narrative. Actually I don't blame Grace for not enjoying the WoW's becouse initially I disliked them too, but I realized the more WoW's Mr.Seim gave me the more improvements I was beginning to see in my writing.I just didn't like the fact that it was every week! Writing takes a lot of time for me. I love writing, but I enjoy when I get to write what I feel like, but not what a teacher tells me to write.Anyone here have a diary or a journal of some sort?I used to have one but I stopped writing in it in the beginning of 6th grade.
I have a journal of sort. I sometimes write poems or dreams or thoughts. I think I'll share one...Surfingis like flying an airplane, while standing on the wing. The motion knows not peer. The ridden surface, evolving constantly, yields a dimension irresistibleand not reproducible. The interactionbetween concurrent movementof sea and surfboard (wing)is exponential, and to harness the energylong enough to rideis to flirtwith illimitable joy.
How do we make yellow smiley faces? : (
Mr. B the blog hasn't been updated in forever! Also, about your poem, I thought it was great... It just took me a couple of times to figure it out: )
You just do a regular smiley colon : then close parantheses ) put it together and you get
(:)) (:()
It didn't work.
I like your poem Mr. Bramwell. I've never surfed before, my 5th grade teacher was obssesed with surfing! You know what I have never had happen to me. There has never been a time when I teacher has just said, "Write whatever you feel like." Writing in school always has rules and restrictions one must follow. I enjoy writing at my own will.
SK, Why don't your write something and publish it here?
Yeah, because you put an extra parantheses at the end, Grace.
I agree, Sona. I like to write about what I want, when I want, how I want!
(:) this should work
I'll think about doing that sometime Mr. Bramwell. How is Catalina like Mr. Bramwell??
Oh my gosh!! My first post ever on this blog! Actually it is not that big of a deal. I just wanted to post here for the sake of posting here.
What's your best mile time, Mr. Bramwell?
Why is it that when it is 10/10/10 11/11/11 everyone thinks the world is going to end?
Did you read the poem?
EM. I did and think it amazing.
Its not that good...it doesn't rhyme!
My poem is the best. See Mr. Seim's poet's blog to read it.
Where is the poem Grace?
I didn't find the poem on Mr. Seim's blog.
*eye roll* It is only one word, Grace.
Dear Mr.Bramwell,I hope everything is going fine with you guys I miss everyone very much! Well have fun! Sincerely, Heaven Henderson
Hi Heaven. Where the heck are you? Is the new house and school working out okay? We miss you. Stay in touch.
<b>Hi! I'm sick todaybut would like to share an epiphany with you all: the RADIO. When I was a 3rd grader, I would listen to all of my friends talk about all of the latest songs and whatnot. I had thought that it was an unhealthy obsession at first, but later, I got a new radio and realized that it was pretty cool!</b>
Ellie, my poem is two words. Do not downgrade its extreme awesomeness.
Hey Mr.Bramwell. Just wanted to say Hi. Hope everything is going well. I miss Columbus Tustin and my friends. Could you tell Marquel I said hi? Hope you have a wonderful day!
Hi Jalyna. Where are you? Are you doing okay? I will tell Marquel. Thanks for checking in and keep in touch.
Hey jalyna. It Marquel I just want to say "hi", and see how you are doing. Do you like your new school?
K. I wish I knew the words to help you heal. If I did something wrong, I'm sorry.
No, I don't like my school, but I wanted to ask if you saw Thursday episode? If you did I'm so glad E (Original) is back, but I don't like the new E(girl). I only like her hair. Anyways, how are things going at Columbus Tustin Marquel?
I hate to point this out, but you used text grammar Mr.B!
Yes E. I too have been hijacked or am I evolving? TTYL...
Your evolving from the sophisticated mind of a college graduate, to the electronics dependant 7th grader. Mission accomplished!
I wonder if my kids will ever know what a paper or pencil looks like!
