  Third Quarter has been a very "special" type of adventure for me. There have been many things this quarter that were particularly new for me, like the requirements for financial aid at colleges (the CSS profile and tax return documents) and the abundance of field trips that have been happening in this past quarter. One success from this quarter I had was acceptance from two colleges, which were St. Johns and Hofstra. Although neither one is my first choice, I am still happy to have been accepted to two Universities. One disappointment from the third quarter I faced was that I was waitlisted for Brandeis University, however, I still have hope because that does not necessarily mean that I am not accepted and so if I say I am still interested, they may still accept me at a later time. One thing I am looking forward to is getting all of my college information together and figuring out what college I will be attending in the fall. One goal that I have for the last quarter is to stay on track with my work and I also need to make sure I pay my lunch bill so that I can graduate.

  I had a great start to this quarter in almost all of my classes. I completed homework for most of my classes and my quiz grades were great. My biggest failure was falling behind on my Physics project. Because I lost my flash drive around the time in which the project, I had to start the entire project over. This caused me to fail the class for the first two progress reports for this quarter. I look forward to being able to complete my projects on time and being able to hand them in on time. My goal is to turn in all projects on time.

  A success that I have achieved this quarter is getting an A on my senior seminar college binder. I was really happy when I received my rubric with the grade on it. I also have sent in my information packets to the Art Institute of New York. Multiple failures that I have committed this quarter are getting low test scores in my physics class and sometimes in my math class. Thee failures have made me so depressed. I understand if I did not try to do my best and I failed multiple times, but I actually tried and I failed. These failures have made me want to give up, but I just realize that I must try harder. I have to try harder at all cost because my diploma depends on it. For the next quarter I look forward to starting over a new clean slate. I can move on from mistakes I have made and work towards being a better person and student. My personal fourth quarter goal is to try harder than my best to pull out of high school with great grades and acceptance letters.

  One triumph I had this quarter was actually finally getting my grade up in Pre-Calculus. Last quarter, I struggled with the material and showed in my grades. Despite the downfall I had, I managed to attend office hours and retake exams that I did not do that well on to get my averages higher. One failure I had was turning in my MGRP late. This was something I had ample amount of time to do but i let procrastination and other work get the best of me. I have a few goals for myself for the last quarter of high school. One goal I have to is not have any F's. By this, I mean that I want to keep my average high enough so that it doesn't reach failing, even on progress reports. I also want visit the school that I ultimately decide to go to as well, just so I could get a feel for the college. Lastly, I want to make the last quarter of high school the most memorable by having fun...that is, after I complete my work. Some things I am looking forward to is the senior parent dinner and graduation!

  I have been successful in terms of my college search because I got accepted into my top choice college, which is Emmanuel College in Boston. Overall this quarter I have had more failures than anyother time in my life because I am currently failing two classes, I do not have enough to go to college, my attitude is going back to the way it used to be in my tenth and ninth grades years and I am really stressed out. There are several other things that are not going well for me either such as my attendence and my lack of motivation to go to college because sometimes I honestly think that I only want to persue a higher education because that is what TMA pushes me to do. In the forth quarter I am really looking fowared to the author vist because BHF, is a reallyu good book and I am able to relate to it but I want to know within what rights can the autor relate to it. One goal that I have for myself in the fourth quater is to make sure that get more scholarship money and also make sure that I am passing all of my classes. I think that if I get more money for college I will actually be more excited and motivated to go.

  Third quarter is the moments when you say do or die, but in our case pass or graduate. Speaking for all of my senior classmates, I think we have come a long way despite the back talk and smacking teeth. We as a class are intelligent African American students. Now personally, I feel that this quarter was a strike because, I made a lot of accomplishments I could be proud of, especially in English. I completed a lot of assignments although I have to admit it takes me awhile to become interested in a book, but when I do get interested I don’t want to stop. In all of my classes I made a comeback from an average C to an A, I could believe it just needed to apply myself. I know I can’t stop now one more quarter and it’s all said and done.

  A triumph from third quarter that I was really impressed with myself, is how quickly I took every single grade on each assignment, quiz, and major assignment, very seriously. I wanted to tell prove to myself that the last two quarters I havent done my best, and so I took on the task to improve a letter grade up in each class. Towards the middle of the quarter, I accomplished this goal and was proud of myself. To improve my grades, I started studying, reviewing, and even going to office hours to get help or to get my work done while still in school. The thing that is disappointing to me, is know I am at risk in failling my AP English class again going towards the end of the quarter. I was upset that I started to slack to the end of the quarter not maintaining my B- that I had. Looking forward to forth quarter, I have to remember that "it is not how you start, its how you finish" meaning that it dont matter that I started the quarter off good, its about finishing the quarter strong. My goal for the fourth quarter is to finish my senior year strong and be one step closer to graduation.
  
  Advice for Rashad: Turning in projects on time was a struggle for me once also, thats why I started to save my things on my flash drive and email it to myself just to be safe. My advice to you is try to get your project earlier so you wont have to worry about losing anything, in addition try emailing it to yourself to be safe if you misplace your flashdrive, or you can email the project to the teacher. When I start doing this it became very beneficial to me and I think this could help you.

  This quarter went very fast and had a lot of work that went with. One success I had this quarter was being a finalist for the Gates Millenium Scholarship. This is a huge accomplishment for me and now I am praying thatthe next step is being selected for the scholarship. A failure I had this quarter was getting my award letter for DC TAG. I have to go through a lot of others things in order for me to get the money due to me not having any parents. I just hope and pray that it all works out for the better. What I am looking forward to in the fourth quarter is graduation and finishing up my requirements in order for graduation to happen. Prom has also been an exciting thing on my list that I cannot wait for. I am nervous about the AP exams this year but I hope that I passed both with at least a 4 or better. Determination is key!

  I did not do so well this quarter because I obligated most of time to other thingss rather than my academics and that is reflected in my grade. I did not read everything this quarter like I did in the second nor did I have the same focus. Moving forward my goal is to read everything and ge well accquainted with strategies I can use to help me on the AP test.

  A triumph that I had this quarter is I that I am passing AP government with a B.I am really excited about this because that is the class that I really struggled with and had been failing for a long time. Unfortunately my biggest disappointment is that I am failing AP Lit which is frustrating because when I was failing AP govt I was passing AP lit, now its the opposite. Although I am upset that I didn't pass both I have to work on balancing the two and applying myself more. I didn't pass AP Lit because I failed to turn in a major assignment. I am more so disappointed in myself than anything because I know that I am capable of producing good work and being a honor roll student, its just that I allow procrastination to interfere with my work to the point that the work never gets done. With that being said my goal for fourth quarter is to be on honor roll again, work on all of my work ahead of time, and to apply myself. I am looking forward to making my final college decision and graduation!

  Third quarter to me was adding pressure, sometimes it was good pressure to make me do my best while other times it just made me stress about how my high school career will end. However, a success I had from quarter three was being able to focus more in Calculus but I am beginning to understand it more. Another success is having my Financial Aid done and applying to the college that I want to attend. I will have one less thing to worry about because I will know where I will be heading. A failure will be that I started not to focus that much on school. It was events happening outside of school that made me less motivated to participate and be involved. For the fourth quarter all my worries are gone and I am focused on graduation and prom and preparing to leave high school. It will be exciting because it is a big step into complete independence and control. One goal I have for fourth quarter will continue to work on more scholarships because college is very expensive and to be more attentive in school because lately teachers have been turning classes into as though they were college classes. I have learned to listen more but now I have to be able to stay focus.

  This quarter for me, was a replication of the first quarter. I was very lazy, sleepy in class, and just out of it. A success that I have had was applying to colleges and scholarships. A failure that I have faced this quarter was not completing art my art 2 project. This caused my grade to drop in that class. For the fourth and final quarter, I am looking forward to all of the senior activities and for school to be over with. I can not wait to go to college! A goal that I am setting for myself is to finish the year off strong so I can graduate and start my life in the real world.

  @Shamir I had the same struggle this quarter but minds had resulted mostly from lack of motivation. I have been told is to surround yourself around people that will do their work. Maybe study groups can help if you do I am in with you as well.

  In the third quarter I think I did poorly at focusing. This is because most of the time I was tired. I will be sure to pay attention in the fourth quarter because I know it will go by fast. I do believe that I did well with getting my work done. Even through the lack of sleep I managed to get my work done to the best of my ability. I look forward to seeing how well I hold up in the fourth quarter. My goal is to get more rest so that I can be prepared for the AP exams.

  I had no success this quarter. THis is reflected by my grades in not Ms. Lyons class but all of my classes. There was no triumph but merely disappointment because my grades had never been this awful during my years in school. I had been absent and tardy with every single class because of personal things and becasue of my sickness. I wasnt able to bounce back and catch up like I normally could.
  
  Something that I am looking forward to are study groups, office hours, track and bringing my last year grades up and passing all of my exams. Therefore my personal goal is staying focus making all efforts to turn in all my assignments and coming to school everyday and on time.

As for the attitude, talking to Mr. Rohal, Ms.Bobo, and Ms. Prdo even Ms. B have been good listeners as well as I. You have my number you can call me and we can both put each other on track.
