Today was our last day in New York. I’m having bittersweet feelings. It was so much fun and the city was AH-mazing, but I really miss home, especially my family and friends, and can’t wait to get back to Delaware and see them. I can’t wait to get in my own bed and sleep! We opted to sacrifice breakfast for more sleep (which actually didn’t work out for me at all), and when we got ourselves together we headed into the competition room for a “friendly” competition, students vs. chaperones. We were shuffled around and groups were split up, and the staff was “okay” LOL but we beat them in the end. A girl from Vegas named Chaw, another girl from South Dakota, and I came in first for our industry (we beat Mr. Smith-maybe he taught us too well? Ha-ha). Another girl from Vegas, a girl from Texas, and Shay came in first for their industry. Afterwards, we headed up to the penthouse for our awards lunch, and heard speeches for the people who put the competition together and even some of the contestants. The top 3 teams were announced, Kentucky in third, Vegas in second, and Texas in first, and we all went out to the mezzanine for pictures high above the city. That didn’t work out to well for me considering heights terrify me and I already had an “episode” on the roof, but we took the picture, got changed, and headed out to the city one last time. We lugged our bags down to the subway so we could go to the HUGE Macy’s (that thing was like a whole block, what in the world?!) and then we also hit Forever 21, Victoria’s Secret, and H & M (again). After that we headed down to Madison Square Garden to Penn Station and were on our way back home (fina-freakin-lly). I had the time of my life in New York and I will surely be back (Oh the shopping was just too good to experience once), but what I’ll remember the most is competing. The competition was truly a once-in-a lifetime experience, being able to meet so many new people and prove myself in a serious competition, and I know I will never forget it.

Today, its finally here..we’re going home..I’m excited I miss my family and I missed my brother’s bday. We had a friendly competition with different group members from others states and counties. It was sooo boring..here is when you say..OOOMMMGG… I couldn’t take it I was glad to get out of there, but overall I really enjoyed myself. The award luncheon was really nice…all the fancy food and the nice dessert…oh 2nd the decor was soooo elegant. I loved it but I was soo tired of seeing and taking pictures with my hair not done..I was upset. We went to the BIG Macys..fun but not the prices. I’m ready to go home we rushed out of H&M. Again! Arriving at Penn station waiting to board the train everyone was soo tired...Finally was on it and we will be home soon. - Chantisse
