Mrs. Kogge and I wish you a very safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday. We have reminded the students not to leave their library books on any trains, planes or automobiles if they are traveling! We hope that they find some time to read over the break as well as spending time with family.

You might enjoy looking at the following websites as a family: Investigating the First Thanksgiving lets you help create a museum exhibit about the 1621 harvest celebration by either designing the exhibit or writing labels about the pictures you view. You can even print your display when you are done. Scholastic has an excellent resource about The First Thanksgiving that lets you explore the voyage to the New World on board the Mayflower, complete with a tour of the ship. You can also view information about Daily Life in the New World as well as The Thanksgiving Feast itself. Do you know where your Thanksgiving dinner comes from? Where Does Thanksgiving Grow? gives you maps of the United States showing where the main ingredients of a traditional meal come from.

Enjoy the holiday, and check back often. I will try to post interesting "sites of the week" on a routine schedule.
