    1. Mrs. Jones did not call for help because she wanted Roger to learn integrity. My answer changed because I got to hear about other peoples answers and that helped me understand.
    2. The idea that helped me was when Jarrett said the woman gave the boy food and money to buy a new pair of shoes.
3.One goal I wouid like to work on during discussions is to use the text for evidence.
    4. I wonder if the boy and the woman will live together

    1. My final answer to "Why didnt Mrs. Jones call for help" is that I think Mrs. Jones didnt call for help because she wanted to teach the boy a lesson so that he can become a better person. My second reason is that if she would of let him go there then he would have knowhere to go.
My third reason that i think Mrs Jones didnt call for help is because if she called for help someone will eventually call the police but Mrs. Jones doesnt want the boy to go to jail because she wants him to learn his lesson and Mrs. Jones isnt mean enough to just send him to jail straight away. The last reason that I think Mrs. Jones didnt call for help is that she wanted to teach him right from wrong. The way that this was different from my answer before the discussion is that I added more reasons after the talk tan before.

    2. The idea that helped me the most undertand the question was when Jack started talking about how Mrs. Jones wanted to teach Roger right from wrong so that he could become a better person and from then on I started understanding more and more into the class talk.

    3. My personal goal would be to try and get into the conversation more and when I am talking I am looking at everyone. Another personal goal for me would to back up my ideas clearly.
The class goal would be that everyone gets a chance to speak equal times.

Great Job Lewis!I love how you added onto thinking she didn't call for help because she could handle him to adding that Mrs. Jones could also teach Roger a lesson and didn't want him to learn bad ways and go to jail. Your goals are great and I look forward to hearing more from you!

I think Mrs. Jones did not want to call for help because he wanted to teach Roger right from wrong(Integrity) i think this because in the text it said that Mrs. Jones said to Roger "you aught to be my son id teach you right from wrong." Something that changed my opinion is to hear others opinion.
An idea that helped me was when Michael said what morals were.
One goal that I want to make for our next discussion is to show more evidence when I say something or make a statement
I wonder if the boy (Roger) and the woman(Mrs.Jones) will ever become friends or see each other again?

Jarrett great lifting a line and citing evidence! Your inferences show great insight and I enjoyed the way you supported others during our discussion today! I can really connect to your lingering question if Roger will ever become friends or see Mrs. Jones again. I was wondering he same. What do you think?

Mrs. Jones did not call for help because she wanted to teach roger a lesson and if she called for help then they would take roger away. if they took roger away then Mrs Jones wouldnt be able to teach Roger a lesson. jack said this during our disscution and that made me change my mind. Before the disscusion I thought that Mrs Jones didnt call for help because she could handle it on her own. One goal I have for myself is to try to talk a bit more.I do not have any more questions.

My final answer was that Mrs.jones did not call for help because she wanted to teach Roger a lesson of respect. My goal is that everybody will talk an equal amount and some people not talk as much next time.

My final answer for "why didn't Mrs. Jones call for help?" was Mrs. Jones didn't call for help because she probably wanted to teach the boy a lesson that it is it is wrong to steel and that you should ask before taking something especially when the thing you are taking is not yours.
The idea that helped was when someone said "She probably wanted to teach the boy a lesson because then he will know not to steel anything from anyone else."
What I would like to work on as a goal for our disscusions would be to have the courage to speak more often and more fluently.

    1. My final answer was that Mrs.Jones did not call for help because she felt she could handle it on her own and she felt roger needed to teach him a lesson. My answer changed because I added that she wanted to teach roger a lesson

    2. Me reading other peoples comments helped me to change my answer because I thought about what they said and thought it was correct.

    3. My goal is to think more about what I say.

    4. I have no further questions.

My answer changed from before the discussion. my answer change because i listened more and talked less. my final answer was that mrs.jones new that she could take care of him herself and teach him a lesson. that is how my answer changed from before the lesson.
one idea that helped me was when cailey told everybody that she was trying to teach him a lesson.
my goal would be two think of what i am saying befor i say it to make sure it is important

I think that Mrs. Jones did not call for help beacause she wanted to teach Roger a lesson and if she called for help eventally some one would call for the police and have Roger arested in that case roger would never be tought a lesson. i soon realized this when I saw in the passage that she said " Ibetter teach you right from wrong" As a group i would like to work on looking at every one when you talk because it is a very hard to do it for my self i would like to work on not sharing as much so i can give you folks more idea and sharing time. I wonder if roger was a ofin not in a arfornig or his parents or members of family left him??????

Victoria C I really liked the way you took the time to listen more. This really helped you to hear other perspectives and find evidence to support your thinking. I also liked the way you held onto your ideas until you felt they were important to share.

Jack great job citing evidence during our discussion. You always add depth and alternative perspectives. I think your goal of letting others share their ideas more often is a good goal. I really like you lingering question. I wonder if we looked into Langston Hugh's life what we would find.
