There were so many beautiful student works on display at tonight's art show.  Many styles were represented, including pointillism and expressionism, and many techniques, such as charcoal, mosaics, sculpture, and still life were used to create these masterpieces.  The students learned about the masters of the art world--Pablo Picasso, Georges Seurat, Vincent Van Gogh, Piet Mondrian, and Georgia O'Keefe, to name a few, and they also learned to create art from different perspectives, such as self-portraits and vanishing points.  A certain little mouse also made an appearance in some of the portraits.  See if you can spot him in the pictures at the end of the blog.  Thank you to Mrs. Natalia Glorioso and Mrs. Donna Kopa for sharing their love of art with our children.

After weeks of learning lines, cues,  musical numbers, and dance steps, and painting and constructing sets,  the cast of Annie Jr. made its debut tonight.  The performance was wonderful, and cast and crew received a standing ovation at the conclusion of the show.  Please click on the Annie Jr. link above for more photos.

The students in Kindergarten through 8th grade were treated to a production of City that Drinks the Mountain Sky, a docu-drama about New York City's water system and the watersheds of the Catskill Mountains.   The performance is told through the use of mask and puppet theater, which combines visual storytelling and live music and narration.  To see highlights of a performance of this show, click on the Arm of the Sea Theater link: http://www.armofthesea.org/gallery/video.php?file=CityDrinks&size=2
