Design a Severe Weather Action Plan for your home in the case of an emergency. Include areas in your home you would avoid, places you would go (i.e. basement), what you would cover yourself with, how you would notify authorities for help and who you would call.  Keep in mind the location you live. For instance, if you live in a house without a basement, what is your alternative?  Remember to include all members of your family and who is responsible for making sure your brothers and sisters are safe.  What if your mom or dad is still at work?  What if your little brother is still at school?

Your action plan should be well-written and include detailed steps of action.  Blogs that are under 50 words will not be eligible for extra credit.  Use your knowledge of weather (and various internet sights) to help you design an action plan for your family.  Blog are due by Sunday, May 30th at midnight to be eligible for extra credit.

NOTE: do NOT include your last name in your posts.  First name and period number is acceptable.

If there was ever a tornado at my house we would go in a closet in my house under my stairs. We would avoid places with lots of windows and glass. If we couldnt go in that closet we would go in my basement or our electrical room. We would cover ourselves with blankets and try to stay together and hudle. I would try to call my mom or dad or even neighbors. If i was at my dads house i would call him if he was at work to tell him what was going on and that everything was okay but to come home and help us. I would want to be responsible to making sure that vince and dominique are safe and okay.

If there was a tornado at my house, i would go into our bathroom. We do not have a basement so the bathroom would be the next safest spot and it is on the lowset floor in our house. Our bathroom does not have any windows, and the most dangerous thing would be the mirror since it could fall and break. I would go over away from the mirror and cover my neck. In the bathroom i would have my two sisters, my mom and dad, and my dog. If my mom or dad were still at work i would make sure that i have a phone to call them and make sure they are okay and ask them if there is anything to do so that we are safer.

If there was a tornado warning in Burton, the first thing I would do is notify my family. We would most likely go to our basement because during tornados you are supposed to stay in a low area. We would stay away from other places like our upstairs bedroom and the attic. My dad is retired, and my mom and my brother go/work at the same school as me, so worrying about them won't be a problem.

In severe weather, me, my brother, and my mom would all go down to the basement. My dad would run outside to get my dog and then bring him into the basement with us, where we would all go into the little room in the back. If my parents were not home at the time, I would go to the basement and my brother would get the dog. I would grab the phone by the computer while running through the kitchen. I would then proceed to dial 9-1-1 and tell them that we were in a severe weather condition once I got to the basement. If my brother wasn't home, then I would go to get the dog instead. If my dad wasn't home, my brother would get the dog and I would still call the police and my mom would just go to the basement.

If there was a tornado by or at my house i would first try to get a flashlight, a radio, and some type of food into my basement. Next because my parents dont get home till later i would make sure that my sister was in the basement with me. Also i would turn the radio on to see if there were any station that had a weather warning or report for me. If i lived in a house without a basement i would try to get into a room that had no windows and had something that i could hide under. That is what i would do if a tornado was coming or was in the area or my house.

If I was in a situation where there was a tornado I would go into my basement. I would be responsible for making sure my brothers are safe as well as me. I would bring with me a flash light, cell phone, and a blanket. Once I am in the basement with everyone else I would call the National Weather Service becaues 911 could not help me.

If there where to be an emergency my family would move to the basment into the little room. Someone would take thier cell phone and call for help incase there was an emergency and someone was hurt. Of someone was at school or work we would call and make sure they are ok and tell them we are safe/hurt.

If there were to be a weather emergency around where i live i would try to avoid my living room, kitchen, dining room, and downstairs bedroom.
This is because all of those rooms would be dangerous in my house. They are to close to doors that lead outside. I would go in the room under
my staircase because i do not have a basement. I think this is the safest place in the house because its practicly under my house and is less dangerous place in the whole house.
I would cover my head the most and with anything that will pretect me from getting hurt i will use. If I would have to contact someone for help
it would be my oldest brother. I would warn everyone I live with which includes Adam, Tony, Jen, Carlos, mom, and dad.
Carlos and Jen are most responsible for me and my brothers if my mom and dad were not home. They would have to make sure we are somewhere safe.

Tornado: I would take the pets and family members to the basement, then cover us all in a comforter.

Hurricane (not likely): Do everything as I did with the tornado and also pray.

(In case of a tornado) I would avoid my bedroom, kitchen, living room, backroom, father's room, and sisters' rooms. this is because they all have windows. The safest place for me to go would be my basement, which has limited amounts of glass. The second place to go (and closest, being the room across from mine)would be my bathroom having no windows at all. In the basement, i would avoid the staircase, for it might collapse on top of my family and I. Preferably, I'd go by the sturdy, concrete wall with my neck and head covered by my hands. My family would hopefully be doing the same. If someone was at school or work one of the people home would try calling the facility in which they were to make sure that they are okay, and to give them updates on the rest of us.

If there was a tornado at my house we would definitely go into the basement. There are three parts to my basement. The side with carpeting and furniture, the side for storage, and the side for storage and has my dads workshop. We would probably go in to the workshop because there are windows in the cartpeted area and storage area. There is a big table, so we would probably hide under that. It depends on the time of day for whom we would call. If my dad wasnt home we would call him. If he was we would call 911. If it was night or something I would be in charge of my little brother Ben. We share a room.

If there was ever a tornado by my house my family and i would go in the basement. One area i would aviod would be the living room because there is lots of glass. I would cover myself with my arms or si=omething soft or sturdy. I would notify athourties by taking the phone in the basement and call 911. My mom and dad would be responsible for making sure my sister and i are safe. If my mom or dad was at work i woukd call them and tell them what was going on and tell them i'm calling 911. I have a older sister who goes to a diffrent school so she couldn't help.

(In Case Of A Tornado) I would Avoid my Kitchen and My Moms Office because they have sunroofs. I would then call 911 to inform them that my family is in danger (if anyone is out somewhere tell them where they are) also tell 911 that my house does not have a basement. I would then take who ever is in my house at the time to my moms bathroom that has a big tub then remove the matress from my moms bed and put it on top of the tub after we all get in.

In case of an emergency I will know where I should go and do. In case of a tornado I will go to my basement and I will take food and water I will also grab my cell phone and my home phone to the basement. I will also grab a blanket, food, water, and pillow, since I have many toys and things like books magazines and a pool table I won’t need to take anything else. In case of a fire I will grab my phones and craw to the door. I would make sure that my mom and dad and two dogs are outside as well. We would meet at the end of the driveway by the apple tree. If I was home alone when these happened and I would get to the safe place and contact them to tell them I’m okay and making sure that they are fine too.

If there was a tornado in Claridon Township I would get my dog Max and go into my basement under the pool table. I would make sure that I had my cell phone. If my mom, Scott or Kate were not home I would call them. If they were home, we would all go to the basement.
I would avoid my living room because we have 2 big picture windows and they can be very dangerous in a tornado. If I couldn't get to the basement, I would go to the bathroom right next to my room. I would hide under a blanket or the shower curtain in the bathtub.
I should take my cell phone,a flashlight and a blanket with me.
If I were at my dads I would make sure that I get my little brother and my little sister and take them to the basement. I would make sure that my dads dog comes with us.
My Mama Sandy lives in Hambden and if I were at her house I would go to the bathroom.
