As the new school year approaches, I'm excited about the opportunities to use blogging with my students!   If you're a teacher who uses blogging with your class, I'd love to hear about the different ways you use it.  I can imagine that the possibilities are endless.  As with our class website, our blog will be updated regularly throughout the school year, so check back often!

Hello! I have never blogged with my students. I will have a 2/3 combination class this year and we will be emailing & working on many computer projects. Maybe we can work on something together. Have a great year!

I'm glad to see that other teachers are interested in utilizing technology with their students. I would love to hear how your experiences with emailing and blogging go as the year progresses!

    Hi Mrs. Madden,
I have used my class blog this year to comment on our student of the week and to pose questions to the children. This year I plan to utilize blogging more often than before. I thought about having a "blogger of the day" and there job would be to post that day's blog. I'm figuring they can report on the day's happenings, events, etc and then others can leave comments on what we are doing. Please post if you come up with any other plans. I also wanted to do some sort of email "buddies" with another class, but since most of my kids do not have email, I thought of using the blog to connect with other classes.
    Good Luck!

    Hello,
My second grade class started blogging this past year. They just loved it! Even some reluctant writers couldn't wait to blog. We became blog buddies with Mrs. McGillan in New Zealand. Her link is on the left of our blog page. Take a look at our blog below.

Hi Amanda! I just started blogging on my website but I haven't had a lot of response to my posts. I am hoping to get some more during the year, and I think that having blog
buddies would help. Here's my website:

I like how your comments have to be sent for approval. How do you have students add to the blog - or do you? What if they don't have an emila address?

Your website is fabulous! How did you do all of this? I use Teacherweb, and mine looks nothing like this! Anyway, I began blogging this year, and the students love it! I teach 5th grade, so feel free to browse our blogging posts if you'd like. The address is www.teacherweb.com/wv/pointharmony/mrswagner. I would love to oraganize my site to be as interactive as yours. It is absolutely wonderful!

I use bloggin each week as a reinforcement tool. My students blog about what they learned for the week and how they can use this in their everyday experiences.

Hi, I use blogging with my middle school and high school reading classes. Knowing their writing will be published and read by others makes all the difference. It's a great motivator. They try harder to be interesting and to correct their mistakes.

    Hi,

I started blogging this year and I usually post up a topic that is connected with our unit of study. All of my kids have internet but I'm a littl disappointed with the frequent use of it. How is it going with your parent/student participation using the blog? I was thinking about getting students to come up with topics to post on the blog would be more effective than a teacher topic of choice. I am not sure. I teache grade 2 overseas in an American school. Here is my site:

    thanks
