"Lindsay Jones, the fabulous librarian at Round Rock High School, has created an excellent lesson for students on copyright and plagiarism -- go to

http://rrhsstudentwiki.wikispaces.com/ - see 'Copyright Lesson' on the left side of the page, and click on any of the mini lessons. Ms. Bettin and I are using it with her 9th graders.

I especially like the specific directions for students on how to locate and cite images and music online to use for classroom presentations.

I've also added some resources about understanding copyright and avoiding plagiarism on my TeacherWeb: http://www.teacherweb.com/TX/RoundRockOpportunityCenter/Blumberg/t.aspx

then click on 'Publish Yes, Plagiarize No' and/or 'Documentation Guides.'

Together, we can teach our students when, why, and how to appropriately use and cite the work of others in their own papers, PowerPoints,Prezis, glogs, blogs, wikis, videos, etc." ~The RROC's FABULOUS Librarian, Ms. Blumberg
