    Willy Wonka

    Spring Musical

    The Second Grade and the Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus perform their Willy Wonka musical on Thursday March 15th. The performance begins at 6:30, following a brief PTA Meeting.  Don't forget to visit the Book Fair after the musical.  The Odyssey of the Mind team will have a team fundraiser bake sale before and after the musical, so be sure to stock up on great books and delicious baked goods that night!

    Book Fair

    The Spring Book Fair Is Here!

     

    The Spring book fair runs during March 8-16. 

    Stop by the library and check out the huge selection of books. Don't miss out on an opportunity to pick up some gifts or prepare for Spring break with some great reads for the whole family. Also, consider making a donation to your child’s class by purchasing a book. The book fair will be open before, during and after school through Thursday, March 16th. You can also order books online through Scholastic at the following link:

    A portion of the sales from the book fair will benefit Hilton Elementary.

    Hilton Reflections Winners

                          PTA Reflections Contest Winners

    Our two Hilton students who placed first in Literature at the Council level also earned recognition at the District level.

    Everett Cinnamon won Outstanding Interpretation (First Place)
    Susan Sale received Honorable Mention.

    Everett's entry will go on to the State Level to represent NNPS and Hilton. Great job, Everett!

    Barnes and Noble Bookfair

    We had a great turnout for Hilton night at Barnes and Noble.  We appreciate the time and effort our PTA volunteers, students, teachers, and Mrs. Panko gave to make this a great event!   Thanks to all who were able to attend and support our school with purchases.  If you weren't able to attend or thought of something else you'd like to purchase, it's not too late.  You can buy online until December 18.

    Holiday Night at Barnes & Noble

    Come out for an evening of holiday fun on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Barnes & Noble -- Newport News 12170 Jefferson Ave.  Our own Hilton teachers -- Mrs. Theriault, Mr. Allen, Mrs. Ferguson, and Mr. Rhenish -- will be reading stories at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.  Students will present a musical performance at 6:30 p.m.  Enjoy Free cookies and cocoa at the Cookie Party in the Cafe with Mrs. Panko and Mrs. Bazemore.  There will be student artwork displays, holiday gift wrapping and much, much, more!
