Do you think any of the poets’ sonnets capture a realistic idea of love? If yes, which one and why?  If not, why not?  Which of the sonnets that you read came closest to your conception of love?

Yes I do. I think the sonnets 29 and 30 are realistic because someone see love in a fun way and some people get stuck with their past lovers. My conception of love is more close to sonnet 29

I think Sonnet 3 captured a realistic idea of love. It shows that love can come out of nowhere.

I think that the one sonnet that truly captures the idea of love is Shapespeare's Sonnet 29. The last two lines, "For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings, That then I scorn to change my state with kings," shows what true love is all about. His love for this woman is so strong he would not trade anything for it. He is so happy just thinking about their love he would not trade lives with a king. This shows true love, unlike Petrarch's sonnet, Ronsard's sonnet, and the other Shakespearean sonnets, in my opinion.

I think the sonnet written by Peterarch captures a realistic view of love and my view of love. He shows how much he longs for the women he loves and how he would do anything for her. He goes on telling his love about her. This shows what true love is.

To me, I think that Sonnet 64 best explains love. The poem explains that time always comes quickly when you least expect it. With time, sometimes comes death. It's basically saying that you should spend time with the person you love like family or spouse and capture memories. Because one day, they may pass on and you won't be able to see them as often anymore.

Pierre de Ronsard's sonnet "to Helene" most accurately described love. He describes Helens as an old woman crying at the grave of a man she never loved in life. Now, that he is dead, she realizes her loss. It is a lesson to recognize and take love when you are young. We must be careful not to take love for granted. The poet that captured my conception of love was Sonnet # by Petrarch. Sometimmes we feel like we have fallen in love with someone who does not love us in return and it is difficult to forget about that person.

Sonnet 29, I think shows a realistic idea of love the man is expressing and knows that he loves the woman and just for someone to expresses those feelings is enough for love to come about.

yes i do, i do think the poets’ sonnets capture a realistic idea of love, not all of them though, just two of the three, if you were reading the literature textbook we use I believe it is called "The Language of Literature" the two of the three sonnets in which I believe a realistic idea of love is found would be the first, and the second.
MOVING ON. i think the first comes the closest to my idea of love, like the talented justin beiber who i am watching on the hilarious Ellen Degeneres show as i type i have fallen in the trap of love. and i assure love is something you dont want to lose, and when you do youre in pain, that is the message i get from this sonnet. my idea is one of knowin what ya got when ya got it. foreal, yo.

the first one, i think in my opinion love is something to treasuere when you have it, and if you cant you dont deserve asecond chance. foreal. they are all good sonnets though. forreal.

I think sonnet 64 captures a realistic idea of love. It says that you need to find love while you still can.

"Sonnet 3" by Francesco Petrarch captures a realistic idea of love. Many times in life you fall in love with someone who does not return your love. You fall in love with people when you least expect it; those who you never thought you would ever feel that way about. This sonnet also came very close to my conception of love. Again, I feel as though many people fall head over heels in love with people who they would never expect to fall in love with. All of a sudden something hits you and you realize the feelings are there. "To Helene" also captured a realistic idea of love. It basically reiterated the fact that you don't know what you have until its gone. The woman would not realize she loved the speaker until he was dead and gone. "Sonnet 29" by William Shakespeare also caught my eye. Love is the one thing that can get you through the darkest of times. Money and good looks mean nothing when it comes to true love.

I agree with Sonnet 30 and think it is a good representation of love. The last lines say "But if while I think o thee, dear friend, All losses are rest'd amd sorrows end." It is saying that no matter how troublesome your worries are, true love can make you forget everything else. This one came closest to my conception of love. I believe that love catches you by surprise and you find yourself totally engulfed in it, forgetting everything else in life.

I don't think they capture a realistic idea of love because they are just writing about their ideal fantasy. For me Sonnet 30 by William Shakespeare comes closest to my conception of love.

I admired Sonnet 29 the most because it shows how one's love can affect even the greatest of problems, in this case not being content with one's self. Love is the remedy to all of life's problems, and with it one need not worry about the malignancies of the world. This is essentially the definition of love because it shows that love relieves one of their personal worries. It can't get any better than that.

I think that Sonnet 30 has a realistic depiction of love. In the sonnet he is crying over lost love. He is looking back and regretting all the mistakes he has made.

No, I don't think this is not an accurate or realistic portrayal of love because nobody is nearly as pitifully desperate for a woman's love. Or a man's love, for that matter. None of the sonnets were all that close to my idea of what love is, but if I had to choose, then the closest would be Sonnet 64/.

I think each sonnet has a realistic idea to them, love is different to everyone, effects them differently, and make people feel different ways. So these sonnets can mean something to different people. Sonnet 30 reaches out to me that seem to have more of an impact of love, because he is saying that he is sighing for something/someone, and that he is feeling sorrow for the precious time lost/wasted, and keeps going on about sadness and loss of something/someone and the past.

yes after reading all the sonnets i feel sonnet 29 captures a realistic view of life because hes stating that to be happy and wealthy and have all these great things is just like being in love and love brings the most of all those great qualities. i also feel sonnet 29 c0mes closest to my conception of love.
