Marie first describes werewolves as beasts that are dangerous and scary. But once her husband admitted to her that he is too a werewolf, she accepted the fact that werewolves can sometimes not be as scary as she thought they were. She chose to love them instead. In modern day, werewolves are considered as helpers or protecters. For example in twilight, the beautiful taylor lautner is plays a werewolf who keeps an eye out for Bella. Werewolves can also be considered scary. An example is in Red Riding Hood with Amanda Seifried.

From my knowledge, modern werewolves have the ability to change from their human form to their wolf form, and the werewolf in France's story couldn't choose to change. Also, France's werewolf wasn't affected by the moon while others of modern times are.

She describes Were-Wovles as being vicious beasts and dangerous and later on she describes them as not being as what she thought they were. I think in modern times both of those descriptions are true... because if I remember correctly in Harry Potter there were 2 were-wolves, one was good and helped Harry and the other one tried to kill him.

How Marie describes werewolves compared to modern day films is that they are alike in personality but different in appearence. All werewolves are mostly depicted as scary beasts, except for the movie twilight which is the only movie I know that depicts werewolves as kind things. Each has there differnt version of what a werewolf looks like. For example, the old movie," the Wolfman" shows a werewolf as just a hairy man. In Twilight, a werewolf is just a regular worl. In the movie, Harry Potter, werewolfs are depicted as a somewhat of a monster with wolf facial features. Each tale or movie has there own difference in a werewolf, but it is still the old werewolf every know and loves.

The werewolves back then are evil mean and heartless. They are very sneaky and know there way with words. Today werewolves are kinda the same but some of them are good just like in Twilight

She first describes were-wolves a fearsome beast. That lurks in a thick forest, scary, insane, and horrific to see. Later on in the story though she turns out to like them because she finds out that her husband is a werewolf she thinks to herself and figures that werewolves aren't scary all the time. In the movie, wolf man, they are scary "keep to them-self creatures" they don't express scary attributes except when bothered.

I haven't seen Twilight or Being Human so I can't compare the werewolves in those two features. I have seen Harry Potter. Marie's werewolf is loyal to the King and turns on his wife and the knight that betrayed him by marrying her. He was as nice as a dog to the King. The werewolves in Harry Potter were always ferocious and mean. Everyone was afraid to get close to them. The werewolf in Marie was kind and loyal to those who respected him. He was only mean to those who did not. This is very characteristic of chilvalry.

Marie says that werewolves are scary. Werewolves in TV and movies are depicted as more feminine.

In this story, Marie de France describes werewolves as evil and cruel creatures. Now, sometimes werewolves are good like in Harry Potter, the werewolf is actually a good guy.

Marie de France depicts werewolves as fearsome beasts. They creep through thick forest. They are crazy and hard to see. He is an evil creature. All he wants is to kill man and eat him. Today, in the Twilight movies, the werewolves are not too scary. They do not wish to eat humans. They live among them and are their friends. The werewolves in Twilight protect their friends and family from harm. They only wish to hurt vampires. One similarity between the werewolves of Twilight and those described by de France is that both live in the woods. Also, they can both return to human form.

At first, werewolves are presented as a threat however as the story goes on they are seen as peaceful and non-violent. Similarly, werewolves are seen as both a threat and a helper. In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher is a werewolf but he plays a very important role in protecting Harry's life from the dementors. However, the trasnformation of werewolves from their human form can often be depicted as very violent and painful. Their animal characteristics often take over their human compassion in modern day stories.

I think Marie de France's depiction of werewolves is similar to that of modern day depiction of werewolves in entertainment. Werewolves are seen as protectors. This is true also in modern day Harry Potter, when Sirius Black turns into a werewolf and protects Harry Potter.

she makes werewolves sound bad and to be afraid of them in the beginning, but then later loves werwolves, she was married to a wear wolf and in modern day movies and films i feel they mostly show the wear wolf as a dangerous thing so its similar to how she feels in the beginning, sometimes werwolves are shown as good like in twilight the wear wolf always saves bella

Initially in the story, werewolves are portrayed as being a monstrosity but that eventually changes, and later the werewolf gains the sympathy of the "werewolf's" wife. These types of stories are similar in that sense that all werewolves represent someone or something that cannot control themselves. A difference would be that this story had more emphasis on sympathy for the werewolf, while in other stories werewolves are downright hated.

At the beginning of this story, werewolves are described as vicious creatures. Werewolves in Harry Potter are very vicious creatures, excluding Lupin. As the story goes on it seems that Bisclavret is not so vicious, but then attacks his wife. People swore that he had never acted in such a vicious way.

i think it has changed like so many other types of scary depictions in modern movies. they would like to make it look like everyone has feelings, and not judge anyone by the cover expression.

The werewolves wife, Marie, at first thinks that werewolves are scary beasts and they are very dangerous. But when she finds out that her husband himself is one, she learns to love him just as much. And finds that the werewolves are not as bad at she had thought. In movies now a days, werewolves are portrayed as kind beasts, and protecting of others. But as well as being terrible in other movies.

Werewolves are described as scary in Mary de France's depiction. She changed her mind when her husband admitted to her that he was a werewolf. I think people now-a-days still think werewolves as scary. The onle exapmle I can think of is in twilight. The werewolves in there are pretty agressive.

The werewolf in the work of Marie de France was different than that of the modern day werewolves because the werewolf was accepted into society. The werewolf looked no different from a dog and was accepted as a pet. They are similar in that both modern werewolves and the werewolves depicted here changed form often and it was uncontrollabe.
