    Students took a 10 question quiz on chapters 1-2 of The Hunger Games or wrote a summary of chapters 1-5 of The Phantom Tollbooth for a quiz grade.

    Students should be close to chapter 9 of their respective books at this point.

    If a student misses a day of class, he/she should catch up in the book during advisory.

    There is no homework.

    Today, we read either The Hunger Games or The Phantom Tollbooth in class. If students finished through chapter 3, they started on their HOMEWORK.

    HOMEWORK: due Monday/Tuesday (for those reading The Hunger Games) A Venn diagram comparing Prim and Katniss; Write a journal entry about an event from the first three chapters from the perspective of a character other than Katniss.

    Week of April 30 - May 4

    This week, students have identified good test taking strategies and have applied them to sample MSP reading prompts. They have reflected on how their thinking about the MSP has changed now that they've taken a test and corrected it.

    There is no homework.
