You should be hearing from your pen pal. I NEED TO KNOW if you haven't! Email me at astaplet@cloverpark.k12.wa.us

You may reply in English. By TUESDAY MAY 3 (the rubric says the 2nd, I mean the 3rd) you need to email them in SPANISH. You don't necessarily need to wait for a reply from them again. BY MAY 3RD!

Grades are due FRIDAY. Make sure you have presented your skill focus by then (HS only) so that your grade is reflective of that. If you have not presented, do so by WEDNESDAY MORNING.

Spanish 1 and 2 HS students are focusing on learning about food and the culture of cooking in Spanish speaking countries. Spanish 1 students are creating menus and researching an authentic dish to bring into class to share. Students may opt out of cooking by preparing a paper visual aid. Each group/individual will have a brief oral presentation about what is in their meal. A Day will be due on April 27th and B Day on April 28th.

Spanish 2 students will be creating a complete meal as a class from traditional Spanish meals. They have signed up to bring in entradas (appetizers) ensaladas (salads) platos principales (entrees) and postres (desserts) to share. Each pair/individual will have a brief oral presentation on how their dish was prepared. A Day will be on April 27th and B Day will be the 28th.

All Division 2 students started their skill focus last week. They have chosen either listening, speaking, reading or writing to do for 15 minutes every day, including weekends, for the month of April. They all have brightly colored calendars that they should be getting signed by a parent or guardian every day after they complete their fifteen minutes. Students who do not do this will be attended Pride Lunch until the end of the month. They should also be looking at cultural aspect, such as holidays or fashion or sports, as well. At the beginning of May, they will present on their skill focus during class. Please contact your child's teacher, either Ms Stapleton or Mrs Reandeau, if you have any questions about the project.
