Itchy Icky Day!

Today we learned the letter I. Your child was able to choose if they wanted to look "icky" or "itchy".

Field Trip Reminder

Permission Slip and Money

We need permission slips as well as money for the zoo field trip as soon as you can get it in. The cost for children is $10.00 and adults is $7.00. Thanks!

Settled In!!

SETTLED IN!
I think we have settled in very fast to Kindergarten and to CCPS. The lions know my expections and I am so glad that they are feeling wonderful about coming to school each day. Feel free to come eat lunch with us if you get a chance.
I will start pulling small groups next week for practice and start small group instruction after Labor Day. Please read the book that is sent home and sign the reading log each night. Each book will have a focus (sight words, word families, CVC words, fiction, non-fiction, etc.) Ask your child the focus for this book. Sometimes the books will be sent home for reading fun. Your child may not know all the words so they will need your help. Their reading levels will grow throughout the year and I am so excited to see their progress! Thank you all for your participation in your child's education!

Nursery Rhymes

Nursery Rhymes
This week we are learning nursery rhymes. Research shows that if a child can recite 8 nursery rhymes they will be a successful reader. Next week, if our Nursery Rhyme Olympics. Please join us if you can. There will be more information on the newsletter Monday. Hope your child is loving school already and feeling comfortable while they are here. Thanks for all the snacks that have been brought in. We appreciate it!! :)

First Day of School "Eve"

The first day of school is almost here! I am excited to be spending the next 9 months with your child. If you haven't brought school supplies, please bring them tomorrow or atleast by Friday. I have several that haven't brought spiral index cards. We will begin our Sight Word book on Monday so everyone needs a book. Thanks and I will see you bright and early in the morning.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Lion Class!

I am experimenting with a classroom blog this year to keep you updated with things that go on throughout our day at CCPS. I will update the blog as often as possible. Please check for updates periodically and feel free to comment on the exciting things that go on in the lion class this year!

Open House is Friday August 7th from 5:00-6:00. Please bring all school supplies.
