Today was so cool! We went to the library for book fair and we did
math facts too. We took pictures of the boys in a pilgrim hat and the girls had an apron and bonnet. Brandon did not smile! We have parts in The ABC's  of Thanksgiving. I have the letters Y and B. I hope all the parents are coming on Friday.

We've been so busy with the Field Trip, Parent Conferences, and the Fall Festival that we haven't blogged lately! Everything is going great. We are knee deep in multiplication! We are excited to welcome a new student, Jennifer Parker.

We had a blast on our Field Trip last week!! Thanks to all the parents for your help!!

The third grade classes will be singing at the Veteran's Day Assembly on Nov. 9th at 1:00 p.m. We've got a great bunch of performers this year! We'll try to video the performance so you can watch it on the website.

Art was fun today because we drew a landscape picture. Mrs. Childers' taught us to draw in pencil first, then erase and use markers over it.  She is a real art teacher! We are so lucky to have her work with us!!

Today we looked closely at flowers. We wrote down the names of the flower parts like the pistil, stamen, petals, sepals, and the ovary.  We pulled the petals off a real flower and we found seeds in the bottom part. We looked at each part with a hand lens. It was fun! Everyone in our class did it together as a group. I have 10 A.R. points!! I did well on my fluency today. I'm starting to like reading!

We are learning how to subtract big numbers. I think it is easy! Not everyone agrees with me, though. Michael and I finish math first. Then we get to help others. Houston has a broken arm. He gets to tell our aide, Riley, what numbers to write down on his math. My monkey moved to the 15 point club today! I really like the Super-Sized Animal books. I've read 11 of them already. Maybe you should try one!

We did more science today. We got to examine our seed after it soaked in water overnight.  We learned that a seed has a coat that protects it, it has food stored for the baby plant, and it has an embryo (baby plant) inside. We broke our seeds open and saw the embryo inside. It was awesome!

We wrote letters to Patricia Polacco during stations today. I hope she writes us back. I like all of her books. A bunch of people moved their monkeys to the 10 point club!! Yeah!!

We had yummy cupcakes for Audrey's birthday during snack!! Thanks, Mrs. Glass!!
