The Greeks and Roman were very devoted to their Gods. Why do you think the Romans basically adopted the same Gods, but altered the names? Maybe they had begun to consider the planets and stars in their Polytheistic religion and Everybody likes to call things something different when they borrow?
RESPOND TO BLOG THREAD AND Find the pictures of these gods and what they were God of... DUE NEXT WEEK! (xtra credit - add Gods)

Islam was brought to the World by the Prophet Muhammad in the 600's A.D. Islam has billions of followers, but yet it is the most controversial and fearful faith in the world. It's roots are closely tied to Judaism and Christianity, but yet the hatred and fear tears the religions apart. Why do we find it uncomfortable to study things that are different from the way we live, believe or understand?

Seems like the basic theme of ancient civilization success is how developed they may be when it comes to the 6 elements of a civilization:
Religion, cities, government, writing, culture, economy.

As we begin the ancient Civilization of India, we will see that they have always been a very poor country.

Hinduism is the most influential religion in India. I wonder if Buddhism was in direct conflict with the economy, government and culture due to the strict social structure separating people because of the social class they were born in to. Buddhism sees all life as equally worthy. However, both believe in reincarnation.

We will begin our unit on the 1st civilizations of the world. There are 5 elements that identify a legitimate civilization: Cities, Government. Economics, Religion, Culture (language-art..). We will begin learning about Mesopotamia called The Fertile Crescent (land that was the earliest farming land located where Iraq is today).

Due to the over farming, change in climate and stripping the land of nutrients, it is now a desert (Iraq). If those elements did not destroy the land for greater habitation (human living space), it would be a very different influence in this world.

If I were an anthropologist,  I would love to uncover fossils of the past and live my life wondering and questioning my existence. I would never, however, question the purpose of my existence. I know I am supposed to be a good person, help others, live within the boundaries of the laws set by those who govern, and use my skills for the good of all people. If I fall short I must be accountable and responsible so that I do not have hardship in my life. Live every day to the fullest and with all the appreciation for everything I have, while never dwelling on the negative to a point where it hurts myself or others in my life. um, if I were a scientist?

It sure seems strange that the inventions and industrialization of the world was so large during such a short period of time 1750-1800s... What if it was delayed until the 1900s'? or What if it began sooner but did not have so many inventions in such a short period of time? What if...

Renaissance or Age of Recovery began prior to Martin Luther's posting of the 95 thesis (Reformation).

This recovery should have been an Age of Challenge. These artists, scholars and people who challenged the church and government in their artistic expressions were as brave as those who carried a sword

I think their might even have a completely different culture, religion and more. Does Geography really impact humanity that much...
