    Review and Test info

    Honors Colts:

    Please make sure to finish the Quia review for your test tomorrow, Tuesday, 
    Dec. 1.  You may take the review as many times as you need to to help you review.
    This is HIGHLY encouraged. 

    We will be starting a new chapter and new project on Wed. and working through 
    until Friday.

    Homework Practice

    If you are in Period 3, please remember to do the homework I assigned on Friday: 
    Electron configuration problems, along with frequency and wavelength practice. 

    ALL OTHER PERIODS: Pace yourselves to be done with practice problems by the
    end of class Tuesday. I will go to each group to discuss your results. 

    SSR will be Nov. 23 and 24 so plan to bring a book to read on those two days!

    Test and Absences

    Chem Colts:

    A reminder that your test for Chapter 3 is Monday, November 2. Make sure you
    complete the review as this will count as a homework grade.  Also, study your 
    conversions and chart as you will not have access to these during the test. You 
    will only be able to use the periodic table. 

    For those of you that were absent today, Friday, please understand that you knew
    about this test, and as such, are expected to take it on Monday, regardless of the absence.

    Now that SSR is done, we will resume problem solving with moles tomorrow, 
    Friday. You will have a review and your test for Chapter 3 will be Monday, 
    November 2.  Please don't wait until Sunday night to start studying; start ASAP!

    Labs Due

    Chem Colts:

    As a reminder, your formal lab write up for the Separation of Mixtures lab 
    is due Tuesday, October 20. If you lost the handout, click on the "Handout" section 
    on the left side menu and download. Please make sure you answer all the questions I 
    gave you as part of your discussion in the "Conclusion" section AND include the
    procedure and materials your group came up with and used. 

    The Phase Change Lab is due Thursday, October 22. For this one, you just need 
    the graph, hypothesis, answer to 3 conclusion questions and data table.

    Test Reminder and Due Dates

    Chem Colts:

    Please be reminded that you need to be studying for your test on Tuesday, 
    October 13, which will cover Chapter 1, sections 2 and 3 only. I gave you a
    review today to work on this weekend. Do as much as you can. We will review it on
    Monday, so if you get stuck, you'll have a chance to ask then. 
    Remember you to use your textbook, the Note-taking guides, and even 
    the internet if needed. 

    Study, study, study!

    Reminder and Update

    Hello Chem Colts:

    Just a brief reminder that your projects are due tomorrow, Thursday, 
    Oct. 8th. 

    On Friday, those who need to will wrap up the separation of mixtures lab will have 
    about 20 minutes to do so. 

    Test on Chapter 1 Sections 2 and 3, along with those element names and symbols, 
    will be on Tuesday, October 13. 

    We will be reviewing in class on Friday and Monday, but that alone will not suffice. 
    Make sure you are studying those sections in the book, along with your notes.

    Quiz, Lab, and Due

    QL/Honors Colts:

    Please remember you have a quiz on the elements tomorrow! Complete the 
    Quia activities, use them to study! I know some of you have made your own 
    flashcards. Kudos to you! 

    Also remember to read over your lab that you will start tomorrow. Just read it, 
    nothing else. 

    Lastly, remember that you have the "Nomenclature: Elements" sheet due tomorrow
    also. 

    Due Monday: Project Storyboard.
