Hello boys and girls!  You should be well into your science fair project by now.  Just a reminder that they are due in the classroom by October 19.  Students will need to give an oral explanation of what they did during the project as well as answer questions for me and the other judges.  Your science boards should include your question, your hypothesis, your procedures, your data (whatever you measured), a graph displaying the data, and your conclusion.  You may also inlcude pictures without faces, materials needed as well as some of the research you did.  Those things can also be in your logbook which needs to be turned in with your board.  DO NOT put your name or face anywhere on your board or logbook.  Award winners will be announced at the awards night Monday, October 26.  Please do not send in any working models or other things you may have used in the projects, only the board and the logbook.

Parents: we are still in need of some judges.  It occurs on Monday, October 26.  You do NOT need to know a lot about science.  All you have to do is like children and be kind.  You will be given a simple checklist to see if all the items are evident in each child's project as well as ask a few questions and give some encouraging words.

Last bu not least...REMEMBER you need 3 trials for your project.  You must do the exact same thing three times for the project to be accurate and reliable.  Have fun!!!  Any questions?

This is my first blog for this school year.  Parents and students alike can check this website periodically for updates, fun challenges, and other news.  I'm looking forward to an amazing new school year of making great memories and learning lots of new things.  I have some great new ideas for this year and can't wait to use some of them.  Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.  Students, here is your first challenge.  Email me through the website and tell me in a full paragraph (10-12 sentences) all about you and what you did this summer.  Use strong verbs, good word choice, and correct punctuation.  If you complete this challenge by the last day in August, I will give you a homework pass.  Have fun!
