Watch the video of President Obama, and various clergymen and woman as they attempt to piece together final thoughts and words of condolenses to the town and families of Newtown, Connecticut.
Hint: fast-forward the video to about 59 minutes and 37 seconds to begin listening to the speakers.

    Prompt:

After you have finished watching the video, consider this...What message did President Obama try to convey to the audience? (us) How can you help the President to succeed in this quest?

If Lake Stevens were to create a time capsule of this year, what items would you put in it, and why? How would the items you chose describe you, or our way of life today when it is opened in 2112?

The Greek Civilization was very influential to Western culture.  Can you tell us how? What aspects of our lives today reflect their contributions?  How did the Greek culture spread, and how far reaching was their influence?

Consider everything that has been taught, discovered, discussed, seen or observed so far in World Geography.  Can you make a list of 3 things that you've learned about? Or three things that you've learned as a result of being in this class?  Recalling details is good practice...keeps the mind sharp!

Make sure that you do not list something that has already been said by another classmate.

You may share ANYTHING as long as it was done in our classroom!

One more RULE...whoever goes first please number your details...such as #1, #2, #3, and so forth, then the next person will continue in that manner by adding their facts as #4, #5, and #6...Let's see how far we can go in numbering the amount of things we've learned so far.  This should be fun!  Good luck!

Culture is the way of life of a group of people.

Culture consists of where the people live, and how they adapt to their environment.  It also consists of the things they do in their daily lives, such as what and how they eat and how they get their food.  Further, it includes their government types, educational institutions and religion.  And, don't forget the landforms and climate of the area because this will tell us a lot about how they live.

So, what kind of culture could you create?  Share your ideas of a make-believe culture, and try to include some of the examples mentioned above.  A good imagination can be very effective for this blog!!!
