    AIR POTATO ROUND-UP

    The 13th Annual Air Potato Round-Up will take place on Saturday, January 28th. I am putting a team of Talbot Tigers together to help with gathering these invasive little buggars to be destroyed! The event lasts from around 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Participants receive t-shirts, a sack lunch, and are entered to win door prizes. I have to register our team VERY soon, so if you plan to participate, please let me know ASAP. Family members are welcome, too!

    GREEN TEAM MEETINGS 2011-2012

    Hi, everyone...

    These are the tentative meeting dates for the year: 10/13, 11/17, 12/15/, 1/12, 2/9, 3/15, 4/19, 5/17

    Meetings run from 1:45-2:30. Please report to Dr. Geiger's classroom at dismissal.

    WAYS TO BE GREEN

    Use compost instead of fertilzer.

    Recycle ink cartridges -- give them to Mrs. Kvaltine or take them to Office Depot.

    Recycle juice pouches -- bring them to Dr. Geiger's room (no straws, please).

    Instead of using plastic water bottles, use aluminum, reusable ones.

    BAN plastic in your house -- use metal and glass containers instead; use cloth bags instead of plastic bags.

    Bring reusable containers in your lunchbox rather than plastic bags.

    Try to reduce the amount of packaging by ordering or purchasing in bulk.

    Take your own bags to the grocery store.

    Turn off the water as you brush your teeth.

    Drive SMART cars.
