    I have set up a summer practice area for students to use for reading fun! This site, Raz-Kids, will allow them to read and record their reading fluency, enjoy a book and check for conprehension.

    Magazines in our classroom

     I have just purchased our National Geographic Magazines for next year! I am thrilled to have these in our room.

    Purchased Canvas Totes Today--- Hip, Hip Hurray!

    HURRAY, I finally found what I wanted to replace backpacks, at a reasonable cost and with good product reviews.

         I hope I like them when they come in!  I hope you like them too!

    My "Son"-shine's Birthday

       Oh my goodness! 

        I am having a difficult time with the  knowledge that my son-shine Justin turned 25 years old today!  How in the world did that happen? Seems like I just had him a "blink of an eye" ago! 
         Have you ever been surprised at the passage of time? Tell me about it. Did it feel like time had gone faster or slower than you thought?

        Reminds me of that idiom, "Time flies when you are having fun".

    Hurrying Home

       Yesterday, we decided that we wanted to be home "right now"! So we packed everyting up and left Chicago about 11:00 a.m. . My goal was to make it to Kentucky before stopping. But then I kept changing my goal once I reached it! 
       So we drove all night long and made it home about 10:30 a.m.! I took a shower and went to bed.
       When we spoke on the phone I pretended to my husband  that I was still driving home! When he got home from work, he was so surprised that we were here! 
     
    Have you ever surprised anyone? Was it fun? Did they enjoy it too?

          Well, we have made it to Chicago!My show is in a few hours! Yippee! 

          I had a very nice dinner with my brother-in-law and his wife last night! Blondie met their three-- yes I said three-- dogs. Romeo didn't like Blondie very much at first, but they soon became good friends. 

          I have had that happen to me before too! Meeting someone and at first not thinking I would like her or him too much. But then, as time went by they became good friends to me. 

          Have you ever had that happen to you? Think about it and let me know how it turned out for you!

    Camping trip

          My dog, Blondie, and I have been traveling! We are in Indiana right now and will be going to Chicago in two days! We are traveling there to see a show I have wanted to see for a long time. My son, Justin, my adopted son, Josh, and my nephew, Ryan, are joining me for the concert! I really enjoy camping, not so sure about how she likes it though! 

             She has been jumping up on my bed at night, even though she knows she's not supposed to do that! I think she likes that part of camping for sure!

    To my new Parents and Students! 
    I hope to use this space as a way for each student (or parent) to communicate with me in multiple ways (to ask a question, talk about a topic, express feelings). Research shows that this can be a valuable tool.
     
    I just hope I have figured out the new settings on my website by the time school begins!
