Over the past few weeks we have been immersed in a literacy unit focusing on the familiar character Little Red Hen and all the variations of the stories. We have sequenced stories, compared stories, wrote new endings, and even created our own stories using the Little Red Hen as an inspiration to get us thinking. We role played the characters in our first ever classroom video and topped the week off with a yummy to our tummy treat of personal sized pizzas. I have been so impressed in the motivation and eagerness of the students to be engaged in all of these activities and I hope that they have truly enjoyed themselves while learning...I know I have enjoyed planning and implementing all these lessons.
This week the class has met some of my new 'writing' friends...I would be interested to know if they have shared this with you
. I have a few fun tricks up my sleeves to get them to focus on details in their writing and let's just say if it takes me dressing up fancy, then just call me Fancy Nancy. We have had so many compliments on our writing...we are the class with the 'write' stuff!
