    After reading Chapter One: An Unexpected Party, compose 5 trivia questions and answers (cite the pages where the answer can be found.)  Create a Post that gives us the 5 Questions ONLY.  Then check back to see what your classmates have posted.  Let's see how many of you chose similar trivia questions and how many of the other questions you can guess correctly.  We will post answers to our questions later.  Good luck!

    What would be the title?

    Who would play the roles of Life As We Knew It- the MOVIE?!
    List the characters and cast celebrities or mutual friends on your blog.  You may want to add details (other movies, TV Shows, etc..) to help us out.
    For example:  Miranda- Kristen Stewart (Twilight & Snow White and the Huntsman)

    Using your book, cite a couple of scenes from what you have read so far from each of the categories below.
    Tell us the page number, give us a short description and why you chose that particular scene. 

    1.  Most shocking moment so far....
    2.  When Miranda made you the most upset....
    3.  When you thought the tide turned for the worst...
    4.  A scene that you felt couldve been left out...

    Respond to each of these topics. 
    (You might want to open a WORD doc and compile all of your thoughts first.  Then you can just copy and paste into your blog! Simple!)

    1.  After the asteroid strikes the Moon, phone, Internet, and television service go out and Miranda says "Civilization had ended."
    Are we too dependent on electronic gadgets?
    Would you feel as Miranda does if you could no longer use the gadgets we have come to depend upon in our daily lives?  What would be the hardest to live without?

    2.  What does Miranda experience at the supermarket to make her realize how things have changed for the worse?

    3.  There are numerous websites with information about asteroids and the moon. 
    Use this opportunity to explore some of these, and then share with us some of the interesting facts you have discovered.

    4.  Has anyone thought about Miranda's name yet????  (Kind of like Peeta (pita bread) in the Hunger Games!)

    Hunger Games and Catching Fire were only the first two installments in the Hunger Games trilogy but they instilled a 'fire' and 'hunger' for reading in all of us.  I hope you continue to follow Katniss on her quest for justice, love and the pursuit of happiness. 

    Tell us how the first two books have impacted you.  Give specific example and cite moments in the books that moved you in some way.  Do you feel different since you've met these characters?  Did they influence you in any way?  Testify to the power of these books and encourage others to share the adventure.....

    Katniss finds herself in a new ARENA where Haymitch advises her to figure out who the True Enemy is.  Wonder how this Games will play out and if Katniss will be able to protect all of those she loves.

    CATCHING FIRE BLOG #1
    Can you imagine dealing with the pressure that Katniss is under?
    It makes you wonder if being a celebrity is all its cracked up to be..... would you sacrifice your personal life for notoriety?  Is fame worth your freedom?

    Does anyone else see the parallels between the Hunger Games and the Roman Gladiator Games?  Give me some examples of where you see relationships, whether it be similarities or differences.  For example, weren't the tributes paraded around the Capitol in horse-drawn chariots?!!  Let's see what you can come up with.....
